  1. Claude Hopkins - Swing Time (Prestige/Swingville)
  2. Southside Johnny with La Bamba´s Big Band - Grapefruit Moon: The Songs of Tom Waits (Leroy Records)
  3. Enormously prolific, I recommend Rich Perry´s later quartet recordings with Harold Danko for Steeplechase: "Gone" and "Mood". Many attractive sessions as sideman, too: I second colinmce: "Soft Hands" is an outstanding, drummerless album by Ron McClue, also very attractive the two horns line-up with Stephen Riley on McClures superb "Dedication". Also recommended: Perry on George Mraz´s quartet album "Bottom Lines" from the late Nineties.
  4. Stephen Riley - Baubles, Bangles and Beads (Steeplechase)
  5. Santana - Welcome (Columbia) They never got jazzier than on their "White Album" which has remained my dearest Santana recording over the decades.
  6. Now´s the Time: Deep German Jazz Grooves, Vol 2 1957-69. The Lost Tracks (Sonorama)
  7. @mjzee Rich Perry: An unsung giant of contemporary tenor sax! Urgently recommended: "Mood" quartet set with the great Harold Danko on piano and "Nocturne" another quartet recording but this time with guitarist Nate Radley. Live: "At the Kitano" (Three Volumes)
  8. Thanks a lot, mjzee! Lots of interesting music to come. Looking forward especially to the new Rich Perry album.

  13. If there remains one great classic REM Americana album it is for my taste "Fables of the Reconstruction" - haunting, moving, timeless!
