  11. I was just telling someone today about a time years ago when I was staying in Las Vegas with my friend, a now famous comedian, who was working one of the big hotels. We were hanging around the pool when Charlie Callas came by and hung out, telling us stories about his days opening for Frank Sinatra. He was great and a great story teller.

  18. I don't think everything he did especially towards the very end were that good. but Carryin' On and Green Is Beautiful are great records, solid grooves and playing...unless you only like to hear soloing over a hard bop rhythm section. There is much to appreciate on those records.
  19. Wow you guys were starting to scare me for a minute until I realized you'd never heard him. He's actually quite popular...a lame singer psuedo-hipster in a trucker hat from San Diego. A lot of people love him...but I assumed around hear you wouldn't be duped. I thought Steve Martin was funny when he hosted the oscars a few years back, so I'll check him out. But Jason Mraz..don't get me started.
  20. Well if you have a DVD player connected to your sound system you could play the DAD or HDAD at lower resoultion but still better than CD (I think!). I play the HDAD at 192 and it sounds great.
  21. George Russell Verve Elite, Parlaiment Funkadelic Live 4 CD set
