  1. The response "Well, you weren't there" ranks as the most childish and willfully ignorant "argument" against evolution ever proposed. It's analogous to finding an empty bag of M&Ms in your kid's room, and they are lying in bed with a stomach ache and chocolate all over their mouth and fingers, and when caught they say "Well, you weren't there... how do you know?" Are people really that dumb? Or is it desperation?

  2. Interstellar. Mind blown.

  3. Welcome to the AAJ refugees. The way to help maintain a vibrant community is to attract new members and to utilize social media to help drive traffic over here. So don't forget to use the social media buttons that are at the bottom of every thread to share threads you deem worthwhile on your own social media pages. Encourage folks over there to join the discussion here.
  4. Is Saginaw County a hotbed of racists or did I just run into two different assholes last night in the same bar?

  5. Going live in 15 minutes (9pm EST) on Concert Window if you're looking to hear some music. http://www.concertwindow.com/artists/9759-greg-nagy/shows/10232-greg-nagy/broadcast

  6. IT WORKS! I successfully authored my first Blu-Ray for the THEO project with selectable 5.1 ACS surround or LPCM Stereo 24bit 96kHz audio (user choice). YAYAYAYAY!

  7. I love the Mellotron but I do think it is over-used. I use it on THEO but only on two songs and it's layered in with other sounds so as not to be obvious. Speaking of, only a few days left to order via PledgeMusic before the campaign closes. I've got lots of t-shirts, keychains, and other merch left. http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/theo
  8. Tonight I'm playing at The Harbor House in Detroit with RJ Spängler and Ralph Tope. 9pm downbeat. Gonna be a funky good time!

  9. I need food. I don't want to get in car. No food at home. Ugh. #firstworldproblems #somebodybringmeasammich

  10. I have a pair of Mackie HR824 studio monitor speakers for sale. I would like to sell them locally since I do not have the boxes. I am the second owner and the previous owner put some scratches on the cabinets but nothing terrible and they function flawlessly. They are HEAVY which I why I don't want to ship them. Make an offer if you need some great sounding monitors that can easily fill your home studio with sound.

  11. Here is a nice interview I did with Prog Sphere: http://www.prog-sphere.com/interviews/jim-alfredson-interview/
  12. Just placed orders for over $2000 worth of THEO merchandise. Feels good to get all that started and be on schedule for delivery in a few weeks!

  13. We made it! With time to spare! There's stil time to get on board. I'm working on the 5.1 mixes right now and it is sounding incredible.
  14. I'll try to help as much as I can. Make sure your mp3s are 128kbps a no more, no less. For some reason the player prefers that bitrate and doesn't like others. It is possible to preset where the sounds start in terms of their volume but as soon as you move the expression pedal, they will change. Thankfully Hammond added an overall volume parameter for the organ voices in a later update. Make sure you have the latest OS.
  15. Yesterday I plunked away at an 88-key Korg Krome. Egads, how can they put an action like that on keyboard and claim it's a "Natural Weighted Hammer Action"? It feels awful and nowhere close to how an acoustic piano feels. Just go buy a Privia PX5s.

  16. Began the pre-mixing in 5.1 today for THEO. It sounds incredible. This is addictive. 5.1 reissues of the organissimo catalogue, anyone?

  17. Having a sick child is the worst feeling in the world. Poor little Scarlett is sick to her stomach and can't even hold water down. :( Breaks my heart.

  18. Finished the stereo mixes for THEO today. One word: AH-MAY-ZING. I can't wait for everyone to hear this.

  19. One week left and we're so close to the goal! http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/theo
  20. So when I sent out my last email blast to promote my THEO campaign, I got a reply from someone that read simply "my psychology practice" and a link to said practice. Is he trying to tell me something?

  21. Mountain Stage tonight. I believe you can watch via the web. 7pm EST.

  22. The best part of getting rid of the landline and cable a few years ago? No robocalls or political ads infesting my life.

  23. For my last two gigs I played the SK2 through a pair of Yamaha DXR10 monitors. No Leslie. It sounded really good, with plenty of low end, even for the pedals. I may have found my new setup for smaller rooms.
