  1. Only one left, number 100! http://www.big-o-records.com/zen-cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=20
  2. Just heard "Jimmy Smith Goes To Washington" myself on Sirius via our satellite TV. Neat!
  3. Frankly, I'm more upset that you can't even get a free snack, much less a meal on a cross-country flight anymore and that you have to pay upwards of $23 to check a bag. That's more ridiculous than the screening measures, imo.
  4. Hopefully it will go to the duplicators next week. It will be a couple weeks from there. We ran into some serious issues with some artwork we wanted to use.
  5. The whole LeBron fiasco this summer is the sole reason why I don't watch the NBA anymore. I'll stick with college ball, thanks.
  6. I read the blog. I still say the whole thing is an over-reaction by both parties. The civil suit is stupid. If the guy refuses to go through the scanner, the should allow him to go through the metal detectors or else they should take them out completely. What good are they if you can or cannot chose to use them? Either make it a choice that everyone can make or get rid of them altogether. Alexander's right. The next time there's a successful terrorist attack, everyone will be up in arms that security isn't stringent enough. I find the outrage at this to be laughable considering the rights that the previous administration shredded (oops, just made it political, sorry!)
  7. I flew more this year than any other time in my life. It's not that bad. Want to avoid a pat down? Then read and follow directions. They tell you up front that if you have anything in your pockets (metal or not) it will cast a shadow and they'll do a pat down. So empty your pockets. Make sure you remove any outer clothing that doesn't need to be there, like jackets, sweaters, etc. Be cordial and you're less likely to piss somebody off. I never had a single issue going through security this year and only had one pat down. As for genital touching, it's not like they are fondling you. How often do you fly, Conrad?
  8. RDK came out and it was great to see him again. Heading back home today. Looking forward to some time off (ha!) and getting better. I've been fighting a flu bug since last Saturday.
  9. Playing with Janiva Magness at McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Monica tonight for our last show of 2010. It's been a great year! The band is really sounding awesome. Hope some folks can make it out!
  10. Awesome! Thank y'all. Is this on DVD anywhere?
  11. Jimmy Smith rules, btw.
  12. Awesome!
  13. Yeah, that was a fun hang! Glad you could make it out. Last show of the year with Janiva is Nov. 13th at McCabe's in Santa Monica.
  14. There is and according to the KCSM schedule, it will be aired on November 26th.
  15. Whoa! Now that is cool! Hopefully that will lead to some CD sales.
  16. Cool, thanks Mitchell!
  17. It's been delayed a few weeks. Sorry. Still waiting on clearance for some of the artwork.
  18. I hope ASCAP is paying attention.
  19. I realize my situation isn't the norm, but it does illustrate that the products do have issues and are not the end-all be-all. The first power supply on my wife's Macbook literally started on fire. The logic board failure, which rendered a battery unchargeable, was a known hardware defect that Apple should've recalled, but they didn't. Lots of people were affected by it (I read a lot about it at the time). I think they are beautiful designs and the software is great. I used Macs when I was doing video post work in Ann Arbor, they are cool computers. But I don't like having a computer that I cannot fix. And I personally think they are overpriced for the power you get. But then again, I like to tinker with things.
  20. We've already been through this before: This debate is old and tired. I've also already shared my Mac story before, which is that I bought a Macbook for my wife's birthday a few years ago and had nothing but troubles with it. It's currently sitting in the closet, un-bootable. Went through two power supplies, a logic board, and a CD-ROM drive and the damn thing still doesn't work. Meanwhile my office PC, which I built myself over 10 years ago, is still running like a top. In those 10 years, I've only had to replace a burned out video card. That's it. I used it to design the last four Big O CD releases in Illustrator and Photoshop. In my home studio is another desktop I built for recording music in 2006. Spent a whopping $600 on it. I recorded "Groovadelphia", my solo disc, and Greg Nagy's solo disc with that computer, mixed "Alive & Kickin'" with it, and I'm currently working on two other projects. Never had a problem with it until just recently two sticks of RAM went bad. $70 later and I upgraded to 4GB of RAM instead of 2GB. Whoopee. With software, I probably have about $1000 invested in that machine (that includes the latest version of Cubase). That's a good investment, methinks. I will never buy another Mac because when they break, you cannot fix them. You have to take them to an Apple Store and then they absolutely REAM you to fix it. I can fix any of the four PCs in my house myself for cheap. I like my iPhone, but the latest OS slowed it down considerably and just now in the van it locked up while browsing. Apple products do have issues (especially the shitty power supplies they had on that generation of Macbook, which they should've recalled but they didn't).
  21. Or this could be a publicity stunt by this unknown "director" and it's nothing more than someone with her hand up to her face.
  22. I don't know who told you that but they are wrong. You cannot connect a Leslie to the tone cabinet output without re-wiring that socket. You may have damaged your Leslie. Stop experimenting and find a Hammond organ tech who can install a 6122 kit for you so you can connect the Leslie to the organ properly.
  23. I've locked this topic. I think we're done.
