  1. DEEP, please forward funds for the urgent removal of rhino-splattered coffee from my keyboard! (sorry conn, but that was funny)
  2. how is it that miss keys can act all julliard and monstrously talented at times and then hands it over to this seemingly faux hip hop twistin' the radius over the ulna shit when she speaks... i certainly hope that her handlers aren't attempting to sacrifice her true talent for demographical approval if ya gets my mariah carey went down the long dark road drift.
  3. ...you oughtta get a yellow card just for thinking about Miller Lite!
  4. Maybe Hans can report on that vocalist...she makes ol' Greetje Bijma look like Shirley Temple. Heeyikes! That last sample is the real groove of them all.
  5. My one of many radio scores happened to extrapolate into a bigger deal... I won some tickets to see an "Evening of Windham Hill Artists" at the Berklee Performance Center... free tickets! score!!...so I finally called this woman (as I had been hounded by co-workers to do so) to go to the show. She agreed and fifteen years and two daughters later the prize is still paying off. Granted I will never set foot into an "Evening with Windham Hill" (yawn smiley here) ever again but just that once... I still get grief from her for nodding off during the first date festivities but never ever give her a hard time for heading to the exits of the same venue months later when Ornette pulled out the violin (another freebie).
  6. Will those two sessions fit on one disc? Boy, old BN would sell off a pantload of those. Agreed that those two early BN silver discs were not up to snuff.
  7. Yes, I recall discussing this RVG on the old BN and can go back to my first ever CD purchase - a pair of Best of Blue Note from Japan... a year before any re-issues appeared on disk. The "SFMF" on this set is nearly perfect with no distortions at all and an itty bitty bit of vinyl sound during the brief silent passages, so... it's too bad with all the capabilities of remasterings today that BN couldn't have given these things a bit more attention instead of marketing the crap out of Rudy's ears.
  8. i thought more apt for an occasional "Crazy Guggenheim"!
  9. And while your out surfin for d'imp please refer to a guy of class talent who graces some jackets. Karl Hubenthal. Great influence on one of my heroes Murray Olderman.
  10. ...or a one way ticket out? how i hate that guy.
  11. When I was a kid, aside from the never ending blue and silver with the old Cowboys playing on blue turf and the Lions playing on dirt, the highlight of every Thanksgiving was getting that good old tryptophan buzz and watching 'King Kong'. That's pre-cable!
  12. If I had to pick one of each: Matthew Shipp: 'Equilibrium'. Sam Rivers: 'Fuchsia Swing Song' (if only for the fact that Ron McMaster can put this Conn at the top of his resume`).
  13. This thread is really not happening at all Evan, and makes all the sense in the world. It's merely the precursor of "going to Cleveland" for the holidays.
  14. Hare Doctor, I can only share what I was put through as a kid here and that that Rorschwantz image has no underlying meaning in a Freudian sense. Hints abound and the jist contained within it's gatefold would lead you to several clues that may well be up your Danube. I'm sure youv'e visited the old "infirmary" once in a "gloomy sunday" as doctor, or merely a "creeper", and put your "gold finger" on a condition possibly brought on by reading the missing holes in your "munster" cheese. You may also be "bewitched" at the prospect of diagnosing that rare kissing disease from a sudden urge to marry - "monolope". All this drivel will get you just two stars at the AMG but "man with the golden arm" knows better! Re:issue with "verve" mein freund.
  15. Maybe her and Norah can do some sort of Fabulous Baker Girls thing...meeeoww!
  16. oh, and the Boarding House had(?) the BEST chili in the western world. Used to be a place called Wax Stax on the East Side...great jazz selection over there but it's been so many years that when I was there the Browns were good and the Indians sucked. There was also an awesome little place in the Old Arcade where I bought my first CDs ever.
  17. of course it's over the line! WINGY, go and ask DEEP to let us know how Randy Purcell REALLY got his name?
  18. All's I know is you gotta wait two years before you toss her onto the babe thread
  19. "up popped two lips" ...and you got seven...
  20. i guess i will now take #9, #9, #9.
  21. Hare Doctor, If I only had ze disc in question I might be able to upgrade to photoshop 7.
  22. while i don't want to feel like the skinny guy during battle ball team selections i would love to segue up a good'n. wish i still had my lp of the 'ohio state penitentiary big band'. you all would never get that one.
  23. During college I used to be a yardman at a place called "Busy Beaver" and almost got fired for spray painting a huge facsimile of the logo on one of the giant lumber sheds. I thought it was art! But...my favorite beavers...why aren't these guys on DVD yet!?
  24. B) what a great line!
