  1. What can you say???? I thought when Pedro went in, and gave up a few runs, I thought to myself, there is no way Red Sox fans could put up with this big of loss, it would dwarf last year. No one could even think about baseball next year in New England...couldn't believe Lowe was taken out...but this year is truly different. Balls bounced in the stands that would have put the Yankees up. Umpires correct mistakes they have made against the Sox....3 wild pitches, and the no one scores...Last year, I angrily said, the Red Sox should not even call themselves rivals to the Yankees, they NEVER win. They were the Washington Generals. They have kicked the butts of the Yankees, in their park! Now, the Yankees have a taste of what the Red Sox have had to deal with year after year. Someone must have made a peace offering to the spirit of Babe Ruth. Ruth has gone back to being a Sox fan!!!!
  2. I can't remember what company it was(Don't think it was Mastercard though) that has had Maxine Sullivan with John Kirby doing Blue Skies.
  3. Oh, that OTHER game is starting now....IF Boston wins(I will keeps saying the Yanks will win everynight, and hope the same amazed look comes across my face tonight as well) hope for Houston, not only for the Rocket/Redsox fun, but for the fact the Astros are just not as good as the cards....but, as the 1982 Cards, and 1988 Dodgers proved, the best team does not always win!!! Like GOM said, gotta love this!!! But, after two games a day, then one, we have to go months without any!
  4. Hey, want to see the dumbest, stoopidist "article" ever posted on espn about baseball???? I saw this last night, should have posted it earlier. These same "Experts" had both series over a few days ago... http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...second/guessing
  5. Good points..I still remember that move by Reggie, and it was nothing like what we saw last night. Playing the devil's advocate for a sec(REALLY don't want to defend A-hole) but there is a fair bit a sign stealing going on by guys on second base, and that really pisses me off, throw a guy out doing that once, and it will end real quick.....
  6. Then you said, "Whose your daddy????" And that is the last thing you remember, before waking up in the hospital.
  7. But you have posted at least....where is Ghost, and Dan, and bluesForBartok??? Are they all passed out from shock??? Just heard that Shilling had his ankle sutured before the start!!!!
  8. Oh, I knew it all along...what with Country Joe West's strike zone the size of a matchbox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Man, I was thinking what a stupid manager Francona was keeping in rally killer Bellhorn in instead of Pokey Reese. Then he hits a 3 run homer. Like Joaquin Andujar, said You can sum up baseball in one word: You never know.
  10. You have just gone from driving a old Volvo, to a Vette!!! Somewhere in Europe, a boardmember is saying, "Why'd he have to use a Volvo for the comparison???"
  11. Especially since Clapton had a massive booze problem! But, to his credit, he never did an ad for Coke...
  12. Yeah, I am a Cards fan, but good for the Astros! I thought I would miss the entire NL game with the Sox-Yankees going so long. I did flip over to see that AMAZING catch by Beltran! Houston just can't let him go, even if it means dealing with Satan himself(Scott Boros) Jeff Kent would have been playing for Oakland if Oakland hadn't been so cheap(I think it would have cost them a million to rent him for September) Sometimes the best trades are the ones never made! Oh, speaking of moves made/not made by teams, I bet the Twins must really pat themselves on the back for all the money they saved by releasing Ortiz.
  13. TO SEE DEREK WITHOUT THAT SMUG MUG....AHHH, PRICELESS!!! We all know what will happen in New York, but you never know, since it has never happened, means it's overdo!
  14. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. to Ghost, and all the other Yankee fans.... At least a little salve on the deep, deep wounds, and I haven't been a lifelong fan of the Sox!
  16. Well, Pedro might sign with the Angels, but that's about it.
  17. Oh, do be quiet!!!!
  18. shuddup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Rachel, can you start rooting for the Yankees, please? B-)
  20. Did the Cards play the Yanks this season? No, but they will, then you will see!
  21. 1, did you mean to post this in the non-political forum? 2, Since anything that has ever happened in Texas is Bush's fault, using the same "logic" since you have been involved with jazz for 50 years, can I blame you for Kenny G???
  22. The cards look to be unstoppable at this point. Pujols is hitting .455 during the playoffs, Scott Rolen who wasn't doing crap, hit 2 homeruns last night. The Astros probably didn't go out and get relievers cuz they didn't know they were still in the race and were going to go 36 and 10. IF they had some relievers, they might have had a chance. Or if Pettite hadn't gotten hurt. Imagine if Houston got past the Cards, and the Yankees won, who would have guessed the Rocket would face the Yanks? Or how about a Houston Vs. Boston series??? Don't worry Dan, if Boston can't beat the Yanks, surely the Cards can! And Dan, tell the Sox owners to pay any price to get Beltran! Don't let the Yankees get him!
  23. and if I was a mafia man.... Ol' Giuseppe Screwball
