Ubu, I'll try to get my thoughts together and post them later on today. I'm fairly certain I won't be able to identify a single track but I've really enjoyed listening to your selections. We had disc #1 playing during dinner last night and my wife was really enjoying the music, too.

Don't bother with all of the links. It's really not worth your time. I really enjoy 2 X 3 = 5. I don't have much Parker in my collection. Off the top of my head Monoceros and The Snake Decides (both excellent solo discs) and Dark Rags, with Keith Rowe are all I own. I'm looking forward to exploring more of his work. I still need to get some Derek Bailey. I still have never heard anything by him, as far as I know.

I got copies of Evan Parker / Anthony Braxton's Duo (London) 1993 and Evan Parker's Alder Brook yesterday. I haven't had time to listen to either yet, but will do so after giving Ubu's blindfold test disc a nother listen or two, prior to posting my thoughts on them.

I have really enjoyed these: The Nels Cline Singers - Instrumentals Nels Cline - The Inkling Alex Cline - Sparks Fly Upwards Alex Cline Ensemble - The Constant Flame I'm looking forward to hearing Mark Dresser's Aquifer and the Music of Eric Von Essen discs. "KONONO N°1 was founded over 25 years ago by Mingiedi, a virtuoso of the likembé (a traditional instrument sometimes called "sanza" or "thumb piano", consisting of metal rods attached to a resonator). The band's line-up includes three electric likembés (bass, medium and treble), equipped with hand-made microphones built from magnets salvaged from old car parts, and plugged into amplifiers. There's also a rhythm section which uses traditional as well as makeshift percussion (pans, pots and car parts), three singers, three dancers and a sound system featuring these famous megaphones." actually, I'm not even so concerned about the specific tunes. If someone could just tell me the date and location of each disc (mine came numbered 1 - 11, no other markings) I would appreciate it.

I saw them live a few times back in the Somewhere in Time / Seventh Son days. I also saw Bruce live on his first solo tour at a tiny hole in the wall club in Providence, RI. My favorite albums are Live After Death, Somewhere in Time and Powerslave

I own one disc on Meniscus: The Sealed Knot (Burkhard Beins, Rhodri Davies, Mark Wastell) SURFACE/PLANE . It is solidly ok. Not essential, but not bad. Knowing your tastes I probably would not recommend it to you. I might for Д.Д, but still not sure about that.

Ok, so there are some mislabelled used copies available from Amazon sellers. My point was there is currently no way to purchase this disc on cd in a manner that would benefit EMI or Art Blakey's estate in any way. Other than a few people selling off their used copies this cd is not available for sale now. By"safe" I mean I don't see any problem with Chaney posting that link. I'm not commenting on the actions of the person who posted the tracks on their website. I assume that is someone other than Chaney.

is anyone here familiar with the band Fugazi? Apparently this lineup: Related Silence (Caspar Brötzmann/Mats Gustafsson/Johan Berthling/Tim Barnes/Ikue Mori/Guy Picciotto) played together at the Perspectives festival this past October. I'm having difficulty imaginging Guy fitting in well with this group's improvisation, but, as the show was recorded and broadcast on the radio and is currently "making the rounds," I would love to hear how this turned out. If anyone sees a copy of this floating around could you let me know?

for some reason releases on Label Bleu have been very difficult to track down over here of late. One of these days I'll pick up a copy of the second disc.
