  1. No idea on most of this, but I'm pretty sure Track 4 is Angles 9.
  2. Never heard the original LP, so don't know if it is better or not, but the bass on the reissue is wonky (the entire mix sounds kind of off).
  3. His duo w/ Karl Berger on Leo from earlier this year was quite good.
  4. Waclaw Zimpel -- especially his work with Hera. And I'll put another vote in for Falzone and KLANG.
  5. The Giant Awakens Carter/Bradford live disc on Dark Tree the East Wind reissue series the "new" Ornette disc . . .
  6. ohhh man -- RIP Mr. Coleman. I'm going to have to tie one on tonight after this news.
  7. I got a shipped email from them on Friday 5/15 & it got here today. That was with the cheap air mail shipping option to Ohio.
  8. You are going to have to search long and hard for a note before this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBhB9gRnIHE
  9. That one is hard to locate on CD for a reasonable price, unlike some of the other solo albums on FMP. True, but you can buy the high-rez download from destination-out -- and I've always viewed it as a singular effort in the vast solo Cecil canon.

    Uptown

I think he's got a little Johnny Ramone working there.
  11. Martin Kuchen -- Hellstorm -- not an easy listen, but an incredibly powerful attempt to portray the horrors of Nazism in sound. If you found Angles -- Every Woman is a Tree to be moving you'll embrace this one as well.
  12. Just received an email from DarkTree -- this is now available for preorder (w/ expected ship date of April 20).
  13. They are thin card folder sleeves, and the disc slides out of a pocket in the sleeve. While that is the standard Dark Tree packaging, the 16 page booklet w/ this disc might mean something a little sturdier (hopefully).
  14. Die Enttauschung
  15. Sorry to hear that. But a friend who may have the most acute ear of anyone I know heard Lee in Chicago recently and was very impressed. I felt in the presence of a "legend", but there was no stamina & the "singing" on every song was distracting. He kept looking at his watch, asked how long are we supposed to play & was finished in less than 45 minutes. There was no 2nd set. That was my feeling as well when I caught him a few months ago. Although Lee's scatting wasn't nearly as distracting as Dan Tepfer's over the top Keith-style body gyrations while playing scales.
  16. Folk music didn't even register on the list, so wouldn't that make it less popular that jazz?
  17. Waclaw Zimpel
  18. Here's three of those I picked up and can recommend. Kosuke Mine/Solid Shunzo Ohno/Something's Coming Mikio Masuda/Trace [Low-Priced Edition][Low-Priced Edition
