My favorite 'new' release this year. Not that I hear all that many new releases these days, but this one is excellent IMHO.

More than positive Tom. Very enthusiastic . Now listening to the Sal Salvador sets on Discs 7 & 8. You know that vocalists are not really my 'thing' (I much prefer instrumental jazz), but the Johnny Hartman session is very, very good. This is one of those Mosaic sets where the individual sessions seem to sound better as part of the whole set, rather than on their own. I can't explain why that should be, but it's true for a few other Mosaics as well, the Elvin Jones set , for example.

Discs 1 & 12 The Arnett Cobb session on Disc 12 which I'd never heard before is excellent.

An excellent CD. Renee Rosnes is superb.

Now on disc 4 of this very strong set. The '65 tracks which I'd never heard before sound exceptionally good, I think.

Holey Moley! My order arrived today with not a penny added in fees. Actually haven't paid extra fees in nearly twenty years. Just finish listening to a few things I have out then I'll dive right in!

Makes me really curious about the new Uptown release.
