  1. Bill Kirchner Nonet - Infant Eyes (Sea Breeze) - no image found
  2. (even Ebony Concerto sounds OK )
  3. Kind of surprised about the customs charge, Ted. I haven't bought a Mosaic set for nearly 2 years because of the sad state of the Canadian $. But it's very rare that I've been dinged. Plus Mosaic usually (at least they used to ) "undervalues" sets on the customs tag, so that even if you did get charged it wouldn't be for too much. But in my experience the cost they show is so low that the P.O. says, "Too small to worry about." and let's it through without a charge. But as I say, maybe things have changed in the last couple of years.
  4. Agreed. One of my favorites from 2016. But here's my favourite release from 2016
  5. It's the second set of this gig, Feb.24, 1979. At least as good as the first set, a bit better, perhaps.
  6. I was wondering about that as well. With Danny, you just never know and probably that's what he intends. I am not familiar enough with T-Bone Walker to know whether or not that was a very rare and treasured side.
  7. Re: Susannah McCorkle Yes, I can't help but think of her difficult life as I listen to her sing these Mercer lyrics with such clarity and conviction and joy. In fact, I can't listen to this great album very much because of that. On "Dream" - "things aren't as bad as they seem." Unfortunately, they sometimes are. RIP Susannah McCorkle.
  8. This is a terrific album.
  9. from Danny D'Imperio 1996 http://www.whodatsound.com/wdmusicpro/media/DannyDImperio/The%20Incident/theincident.html
  10. Just received this one by the Alan Barnes Octet from Woodville records in England. It is delightful. Mostly original music along with arrangements of 2 Christmas standards. Don't know whether this one's been mentioned or not, but it's one of my favorite Christmas-themed CD's.
