It was probably warped back in 1979 when it was packaged. That was an awful era for vinyl (shortage of petroleum). Only Japanese LP pressings could be fully trusted, but some N.A. pressings were OK. My de-warping method is patience. Store the record vertically with a bit of pressure on it from both sides (ie. other albums). After a while (like a year or two) it will be straighter and most likely playable.
Some of my favorite Romano is on Sam Noto's "Act One" on Xanadu. Love that whole album.
But I've never heard Joe's own recording. I'll have to check it out.
Duke's "Don't You Know I Care (Or Don't You Care to Know)" arranged by Don Menza; with the soulful Joe Romano on a wonderful tenor solo. Joe was the real deal.
This is a pretty obscure Bellson recording, but a really fine one. Bobby Shew is featured throughout in magnificent form, and Joe Romano is excellent on Don Menza's arrangement of "Don't You Know I Care (or Don't You Care to Know)."
