  1. Amen to THAT.
  2. Now spinning on my turntable: Mickey Newbury - Lovers (Elektra, 1975)
  3. Earlier: Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '77 - Primal Roots (A&M, 1972) and Flora Purim - Open Your Eyes You Can Fly (Milestone, 1976)
  4. Sorry to hear this news. R.I.P. This is the Laine album that I've enjoyed more than any others:
  5. Since original copies of this private pressing LP fetch absurd sums, I'd love to see someone reissue it. I suppose it's not likely, however. . . . Oh well. At least it's available for streaming. Aside from ND's excellent playing, that rhythm section is something special.
  6. R.I.P.
  7. Al Haig Trio and Sextets Featuring Stan Getz and Wardell Gray (Period/OJC)
  8. R.I.P. Like @felser, I'm partial to Galper's excellent 1970s band with the Michael Brecker and Randy Brecker.
  9. Now: Pierre Dørge & New Jungle Orchestra - Music from the Danish Jungle (Dacapo DK, 1996) I only got this recently, and I'm really enjoying it. The music is full of vitality. Is there any higher praise?!?
  10. Now spinning: Milton Nascimento - Encontros e Despedidas (Polydor, 1985) The album title translates to English as Meetings and Farewells.
