  1. Interesting. I think I'd rate Black Love as my favorite -- in no small part due to Dee Dee Bridgewater's vocals. But I dig Journey and Let This Melody too.
  2. Disc 2: - Nocturnes 15-20 - Waltzes
  3. I've not heard that one -- and it sounds like I don't need to!
  4. with Peter Washington & Lewis Nash
  5. Kevin, Have you heard the 32 Jazz CD compilation titled Ricky's Choice? If not, you might want to give it a try. It's not one for purists, perhaps -- since it's a comp. That said, I think it's more convincing as a listening experience than any of the individual Muse albums. It skims the cream off the top, so to speak. And somehow it seems a little more legit since Ford picked the cuts.
  6. A few that I already have but that deserve wider exposure: Along with MANY others.
  7. Very cool. Hopefully, they'll do a LOT of them.
  8. Now this: Jimmie Rowles - Grandpaws (Choice, 1976) with Buster Williams and Billy Hart
  9. Next up: OJC pressing
  10. A remembrance by Nate Chinen: https://open.substack.com/pub/thegig/p/sheilas-blues?r=2c9g6z&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email
  11. Now spinning: Sheila Jordan / Harvie Swartz Duo - Old Time Feeling (PAJ, 1983)
  12. More Eddie Harris:
  13. NP: Eddie Harris - Live at Newport / Instant Death (Atlantic/Collectables)
  14. Next up: Gust William Tsilis - Sequestered Days (Enja, 1991) Excellent.
  15. Now on my turntable: Sheila Jordan - The Crossing (BlackHawk, 1986) R.I.P.
  16. Thank you for sharing this, @hopkins! Fascinating stuff. What a cool thing this young man has done, making his entire collection available to the public -- and just as important -- sharing his passion and his expertise! The whole thing sorta reminded of a Japanese jazz kissa that's dedicated to early jazz. Next time I'm in NYC, I'm going to go!
