  1. Mahler: Symphony No. 6 - with the LSO
  2. George Coleman - My Horns of Plenty (Birdology/Verve, 1991)
  3. This again: I have a bunch of Steve Kuhn records, and I think this is one of his best.
  4. I think LoneHill has gone the way of the dodo. Second-hand is the only route theses days, I think!
  5. More recently, there was also the wonderful Impulse 2-on-1 series. https://www.discogs.com/label/292976-Impulse!-2-On-1?srsltid=AfmBOopfD-q2nbzgGozA99_hfDaOm4YTbukXgT7w_tnIbkeHYG9K-38G
  6. Now spinning on my turntable: Mickey Newbury - Live at Montezuma Hall / Looks Like Rain (Elektra, 1973)
  7. Baden Powell - Baden Powell (Barclay, 1971)
  8. I'm jealous that you had a chance to see the Breuker Kollektief live. If you'd like to sample Live in Berlin, you can listen to a couple cuts here: https://destination-out.bandcamp.com/album/live-in-berlin . . . FWIW, Bandcamp calls it one of Breuker's "most important albums." I'm not at all a Breuker expert. I only know a few of his recordings, and this LP is new to me. But I love the crazy mixture of different elements in his music, how it veers all over the place stylistically from madcap to tender. Another Muse LP now on my 'table:
  9. Next up: Bruce Forman - 20/20 (Muse, 1982)
  10. Excellent news! Thanks for sharing.
  11. Now spinning: Willem Breuker Kollektief - Live in Berlin (BV Haast/FMP, 1976) Saxophone, Clarinet, Arranged By – Willem Breuker Alto Saxophone – Bob Driessen Tenor Saxophone – Maarten van Norden Flute – Ronald Snijders Horns – Jan Wolff Trombone – Bernhard Hunnekink, Willem van Manen Trumpet – Boy Raaymakers Piano – Leo Cuypers Bass – Arjen Gorter Drums – Rob Verdurmen
  12. Excellent in every way.
  13. Now spinning this LP:
  14. Yes, it's Muses for Richard Davis. But I think Jim was referring to the first of the LPs pictured above; that is, Epistrophy & Now's the Time. (Not Davis' first LP.) Or at least that's how I read it.
