Now dipping into this treasure chest: The Complete Duke Ellington - 1947-1952: Recorded Works In Chronological Order (CBS France) Sides E & F If I'm ever having a stressful day, I pull this set from the shelf. It never fails to elevate my spirits. It's some potent medicine.

Everything old is new again.

I enjoy Jordan's playing. Often, it has a gliding quality that very much appeals to me. We all hear music differently. 😉

I'm a big Jackie & Roy fan -- and I think this LP is one of their best.

Chuck, Apparently, the box only focuses on pre-digital recordings. The last recording in the anthology dates from 1976. That said, MTT's digital recordings of Ives are SUPERB, so part of me wishes they would have extended the date to included them. One saving grace. There is a separate 4-CD box that compiles them:
