1. Drinking alcohol, even excessively is not a crime. Out of control behavior from those who partake can certainly break the law, but prohibition of alcohol was repealed long ago. 2. Please explain who the victim is in a drug crime, and explain to me how the said crime is exclusive to the drug. (To explain what I mean, I've heard the argument that drugs are bad because drug addicts burglarize homes to pay for their fix. The crime here is burglary or breaking and entering, not the drug.) I see no reason to make a drug illegal when the action being blamed on the drug is the fault of the user, not the drug, and is already illegal besides. When we look at the history of drug laws in this country, it becomes apparent that drug laws were created, not to stop drug use, but to control all those scary nonwhite people out there.

I didn't see it, but caught highlights (lowlights?). Loved his response when asked why he was such a dick: "what was I supposed to do?". Hey, if you don't know how to be a classy player, I guess you just don't know. On the other hand, it does make the Flyers impending defeat of the Pens that much more enjoyable. Speaking of that series, is anyone else jarred out of concentration whenever Jagr's name is mentioned? Confuses the heck out of me... -

I have to agree. By not suspending Weber (one game? at least!), the league has greatly embarrassed itself. I'm stunned. -

Damn. The Kings made the Canucks look like chumps in the game tonight. One of those "the score was closer than the game" nights. Philadelphia pulled out what appeared to be a bozo prediction I made at work yesterday by winning in overtime. I wasn't able to catch the Detroit/Nashville game, but at least for one game, I think I may have overestimated Detroit's chances. At least work was nice enough to give me the day off for the first day! -

"Triflin"??? Please, educate me. Seriously. I don't see it as insulting or a word that would come up in a joke; it's just a word as far as I know. Never mind; a google search reveals all. I'll be damned; I've never heard of the word being used that way. -

Half a million Mac computers 'infected with malware'

The "hackers" who create malware are, in general, not the "hobbyists" of old but bad actors who couldn't care less about the "challenge," they just want the best chance for results. I can assure you that if Mac OS had the same saturation as Windows you'd see a much higher rate of compromise. Thanks. Another illusion shattered! -

Not the best day for a Sharks fan as Phoenix made the game irrelevant, but the matchups are set: Ottawa vs New York Washington vs Boston New Jersey vs Florida Philadelphia vs Pittsburgh Los Angeles vs Vancouver San Jose vs St. Louis Chicago vs Phoenix Detroit vs Nashville -

Wow. Some of my favorite tunes are mentioned here. Particular surprising to me is Willow Weep for Me, one of my favorites. Of course, Summertime was also mentioned, and I can't stand that one. In fact, I'll pass on the whole Porgy and Bess thing. -

I bought that idea twenty years ago, but if the red flag of "apple never gets hacked" wasn't enough to bring the hackers out in the last twenty years, I'm willing to admit that Apple must be doing something right... -

Yeah, Sid sure was grumpy about Tortella's remarks today. I'd have been more impressed if someone who actually played had commented... Well, Saturday night is the big battle for the Pacific between the Sharks and the Kings. They hope. Looks like the Coyotes have other ideas... -

Yes and we should go metric and stop printing paper dollars too. Fat chance of any of that happening. I remember the idea of dropping the cent coming up back in the '80s (during the OMG the Japanese are buying the world! days) when some twit of a politician announced that it would be economic suicide, and that no country had ever dropped the unit the currency was based on and survived (yeah, I know; it's all based on the dollar, but he was an idiot) which, even taking it the way he meant it seemed a little odd when I thought about the Sen...

Stop it, you two; you're starting to convince me! I never had any virus problems until I moved here to Eastern Oregon. I don't see how location has anything to do with it, but there it is. -

Tonight Buffalo and Dallas fans hit the wall of reality. The playoff teams are decided, but the seeding won't be decided until the last game of the season, Kings @ San Jose on Friday.
