  2. That pickguard is sweet!!! I am jealous. Nice axe!! Thanks. Bill Frisell is on the cover of the July '05 Downbeat with a mexican in powder blue, the same one he used when I saw him at the VV this year. (The photo isn't my guitar.)
  3. Thanks. I'm really knocked out by the quality of her writing.
  4. ...and I'm Uncle Meat.
  5. No doubt about it. I got into it with somebody at AAJ awhile back on this same thing. I'll admit that the lyrics to MFT might seem a little schmaltzy by today's standards, but the music is class all the way- just what you'd expect from the great Richard Rodgers. So, I disagree. I think Trane (and Miles, who also dug Rodgers) had taste. Yeah, but they could pull it off.
  6. Amateur. Must be younger than 26.
  7. Um, Allen. You have a crumb hanging on your chin.
  8. And she's got a lot of it too. I wonder if she writes under her married name.
  9. That was actually the original title, but they thought it'd negatively impact sales. Some others: There Will Never Fucking Be Another Fucking You Blue Fucking Bossa I Fucking Love You Fucking A, Take The Fucking A Train Yester-fucking-days Don't Fucking Blame Me etc., etc.............. So Fucking What
  10. No doubt about it.
  11. Part of it is also sugar crash - too much insulin. That's why I recomended steak.
  12. I'm giving out Cream bootlegs.
  13. Yes...all the above. I read most of it in one night. If you do a Google search for the title of the book you can find audio interviews with her on WNYCs Leonard Lopate's show and another on WBGO. I think it's amazing that...not only did she write a book like that - she went through some heavy shit growing up - but then she even did interviews to promote the book. She has no problem telling what happened. Besides the story, it's the way she delivers it. Very casual, like the beat poet she is. I hope she writes more books, but there may not be any more.
  14. I'll drink to that.
  15. Hair of the dog 'ah tell ya. Don't get wasted, just a bit to take the edge off. I hear ya though. I've been there.
  16. Same here. It changes all the time. All over the map.
  17. At least you may feel like eating something.
  18. So if you dose up on the B3, the pain goes away? No wonder the big O sounds so good.
  19. I'd skip the fish but it's worth a try. Vodka would take the edge off. Maybe, but it could also just serve to prolong things. A hangover is basically alcohol withdrawal--adding alcohol to your system will just draw things out a bit. There's the solution -> cold turkey and make it real painful, please. Suffer baby!
  20. I'd skip the fish but it's worth a try. Vodka would take the edge off.
  21. A large dose of protein---->Steak.
  22. So lately I've been digging a Kay acoustic that I bought off a friend last Summer for $225. Funky guitar, the pickguard is missing and the top is a bit scratched up. The back and the sides have a nice flame and the neck is huge. So is the guitar, 17" across the lower bout. Perfect for funky blues and slide. I'd post a photo, but my digital camera is kaput.
  23. Now we're talkin'.
