  1. Supposedly he became a recluse who stayed in his room and drank. And practiced. Only came out to play.
  2. Johnny Taylor selling dog food. Would be interested in knowing how that ended up here.....

  4. First heard him on George Russell's New York, New York album, that incredible first side with Trane on "Manhattan" and then Golson on "Big City Blues"...Side Two? WHAT Side Two???? Also, major props for his business acumen. Talk about a "journey" (a word I have come to detest), his was not just one of music but also of business. To use the modern jargon, he certainly knew how to "leverage opportunities".

  17. That's why I dropped the Rangers after the ASB. Sure, too many injuries and some seriously underperforming offense, it was obvious to me that this was going to be a lost season. But all the broadcast propaganda was talking about no, don't give up yet, this thing is about to get right. Don't try to bullshit a bullshitter, right? Upside was letting loose to freerange MLB TV. That's been a real vacation of travel. Especially the sunshine of a starting West Coast game when it's darkness outside here!

  19. I've moved it to the car, so it will be playing indefinitely now. Shorter does make for more focused listening to the details, of which there are a seemingly infinite amount coming from just two people. I should probably get to Heroes and Anti-Heroes at some near point. Totally different vibe but equally deep.

  21. I listened to the last few innings of that game and the Red Sox announcers were politely painting a picture of total and abject suckitude, yes.
