  4. Hate to see something like this become a distraction for a team that was getting more and more fun to follow. Hopefully this gets worked out sooner than later and their progress continues.

  12. Let the record show that it was for two cans of tomatos (Jack Baldschun & Dick Simpson) & one pretty decent pitcher in Milt Pappas. Still a wildly unbalanced trade (and the suspicion that the Reds GM d/n care for Robinson's perceived "uppity" attitude persists to this day), but credit is due where it is due, and Milt Pappas was an above-average, at times great pitcher, his more than passing resemblance to a Texas truck stop icon not withstanding.

  14. Well, weren't THAT the bitch! The Fully Mounted Colby Lewis was superb this evening, coming out after 7 (pitch count = 103, later revealed to be having increasing stiffness in his neck, probably from being so badass tonight and trying to watch it at the same time), much to the surpirse of all, but Dave bush was serviceable, and we go to the ninth with Neftali and a 3-1 lead. We left the 9th with a 5-3 loss, which really sucked, but Feliz had ok velocity w/o good location and was hit hard. These are the Astros, sure, but they're still major league hitter, and none of them are batting .000, if you know waht I mean. So I'm torn - sure, Neffi pitched 2 full innings last night and was poppin', so mabye the lack of poppin' tonight was a calculated risk. OTOH, dammit, you da' man, BE the man, ya' know? The longr the season goes, if I keep having to be torn like this, there ain't gonna be no torn to it... And it would have been a numerical pleasure to open up another game in the lead over Seattle. Them numbers got psycological powerifications, ya' know? Stiil - two series wins in a row, the schedule still looks friendly (but looks can kill, believe it), Quality Colby Lewis, 8 full inning of splendeiffic baseball pleasure (9 if you drove up from down south, and more than a few did), PLUS Dollar Hot Dog Night, add it all up, it's still the best deal in town, so take your family to worship at the ballpark of your choice, ok? Of such things are better worlds made.
  15. Which Colby Lewis will take the mound in tonight's epsiode of Dollar Hot Dog Night Theatre? http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/21504/the-key-to-unlock-colby-lewis-success Skientiffic!
  16. Ya gonna sneak in through the back tunnel? And run the risk of getting tossed from Dollar Hot Dog Night? Nooooooo WAY!

  18. Kudos to the Astros' young Jordan Lyles. The 20 year old pitched with both precision and poise. Good luck, going forth Mr. Lyles! Kudos to the Nationals, whose suprise 9th was definitely noticed by us here. You could sense the Rangers ballplayers get a little pep in what had been a fairly lackluster effort (save for Adrian Beltre's glove, Again!). It was like, hey, a break out of nowhere, let's see if we sttill remember how to do that thing we used to do...what's it called....oh yeah...take advantage of an opportunity, yeah, let's see if we can still do THAT! Kudos to CJ Wilson for not having his fresh stuff after giving it all-plus last week against the Yanks. He didn't get the win, but he got the outs he needed to get to keep it do-able for his team. And kudos to his team for finally doing it, especially Mssr. Lowe, Feliz, & Tateyama (if this keeps up, be ready for Yoshi-Mania!), along with Mssrs. Chavex & Moreland, the latter redeeming himslef after a game listless both offensively and defensively with the might walkoff, only our second of the year to this point, and frankly, much needed, imo. Things were just getting...flat. Too flat, too much, too long, too flat. Me & the boy's going out tomorrow for a gander, it's Dollar Hot Dog Night, and we get to have a look at the (hopefully) Inner Mounting Colby Lewis. Hot Dogs & Schizo Starting Pitching = Hot Fun In The Summertime!
  19. Thanks. It's only 20 minutes, but when when the self-entitled get in a hurry, not stretch of street is safe, especially when the light turns yellow...

  21. That's by design. Edit to add that it's full by design just because I got tired of it always being full, so I just decided to let it stay full. There are other means of communication available.
  22. Uh...you act as if I have no experience in these matters...that's not accurate.
  23. That's not because she's "sick", that's because she's high. Whatever sickness she has, it's not like she doesn't know what the options - and results - are. If she wants to kill herself, fine. She will, and it will be her choice.
