Sounds to me like the Gods Of Music Future got together and said, "Ok, let's get these guys together & make them re-envision Country Music as stemming from the common ground between Rubber Soul & Pet Sounds & wait 15-20 years for Country Music to catch up. Only not nearly as well." I mean, ok, hey - this is a GREAT song/record. Not so sure about the rest of the album yet, but this one song is, like, WHOA, where the f*&k does THIS come from?

I'd love to see Lebron stay in Cleveland, but only if the organization bumps it up a notch or two. Right now it looks like they've yet to figure out what it'll take to get to that next level. That's what the Lakers had when they got Kareem, an organizational understanding of what it took. Might've been dormant for a few years, but when they awoke, they knew how & where to proceed, just as they did after that dynasty fell and the franchise went dormant for a while. But now, how are liking, theoretically/on paper) Chicago as a new town/new fit for Lebron? I think that could rule the NBA like none other, maybe? But it would be nice to see it happen in Cleveland, a great sports town for years that's not been rewarded in proportion to its loyalties.

BUT - Kareem, Oscar & co. won a championship in Milwaukee. True, but he didn't become a "legend" until he hit the Lakers and contributed to a dynasty. I'm starting to question the Cleveland franchise's capacity to get that "championship" thing up and running. It's takes a helluva loit more than "luck", good players, and one super-superstar. It's a whole "culture" if you will. Now, imagine James going, not to NY, but to Chicago.... hmmmm....

The Open Door stuff recently under discussion is "essential" in my opinion. But then again, in my opinion, all Bird is essential...except for the one or two things that are totally noise. Otherwise, if you can even halfway hear Bird, I'm listening. Does that Birdland disc you have got the set w/Dizzy,Bud, & Sgt. Roy Haynes? You got to have that one.

This does not jibe with my memory. I thought they got the more or less complete set in the mid-90s, when the photography book came out and also when they started selling high quality prints/posters. If they had everything in the beginning of the 80s, why did they wait so long to take financial advantage of that treasure trove? Same here. But I'm not certain...

Plus, they seem like a team w/o the "champion mentality". It's kinda intangible, but I can see it when it's there, having watched the Mavericks all these years... Coaching becomes an issue with that, I think, as well as does raising the question if LeBron in Cleveland = Kareem in Milwaukee... Now watch'em come out w/some non-stop spank for the duration...
