  9. I just found this afrofunk album from 1980 by one Aleke Kanonu that features a rather lengthy flugelhorn solo by the young Mr. Marsalis. He sounds alive, he sounds youthful, he sounds honest, he actually sounds human! I hope these images show: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2elB_EYGP_4/Sa67...s1600/Front.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2elB_EYGP_4/Sa67...s1600/Back2.jpg
  10. You, sir, are confirming my every suspicion for precisely the reasons I was having them. My "tolerances" form some things are pretty high too, so I know where you're coming from. Kudos!

  14. I'm taking your advice to heart because I trust that if there was something there you'd not be afraid to admit it.
  15. Buffereal...I have a hell of a time posting images here sometimes. Sometimes I can see them one day and then not the next. One time I posted a bunch from the same source on the sessy albumen cover tread and they became invisible on or two a day, until after about three days they were all invisible - but still present on the source site. Go figure that.
  16. I got a sack full of sorries. And a can full of never-minds... There should be a song in that somewhere....

  18. Jeez guys, I'm really sorry. I have no idea when images will or won't show on this board...no rhyme or reason to it that I can tell... Anyway, here's the album in question on AMG, minus an image: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&a...10:wpfexqr5ldje Here's an image from Amazon: Does that show up here?

  20. Oh hell, are we having image issues again? Ok, go here: http://qtalos.blogspot.com/2009/05/judy-ga...capitol-lp.html
  21. I hear ya' on all counts. I'm just thinking that Gordon Jenkins was a whole school of emotional excess all by himself, as was Judy Garland. I don't know that either of them were above taking the emotional content seriously.
  22. OH!!! Now I see the possible confusion... That's a copy of "the letter" that was included with the original release of the album.

  25. Joe, do you hear what I hear? I found a copy for $15 on ebay today. Congratulations! Re[port back, please. It's "dated" in a lot of ways, but that may or may not be appealing to you (or anybody else).
