  1. Says here he was born in Italy and has traveled the world extensively giving concerts. It also advises to set the needle down, so maybe this is some Jack Webb shit? Studied in Rome, came to the US in March of 1955: Val Valentine, hey, a Zappa connection!
  2. Don't like it.
  3. fyi/fwiw - trees don't involve buying anything. The entire known live recordings of the Lost quintet were made available as a tree. That was a while back, though. BUT - there's nothing new under the sun, at least as far as this group goes. If you buy anything that's not "official", you're a sucker.
  4. Ok, but remember that when your plastic fish come up from down in the the pool gasping for nitrogen.
  5. Might I suggest cultivating a familiarity with arborculture?
  6. I think it's a painting, and it looks vaguely erotic to me. YMMV. Thanks for the explanation about the Golden Guinea.
  7. What does "Golden Guinea" mean?
  8. re-channeled, with a blank-gaze zombie label on side 1
  9. Stravinski on piano, Stravinsky conducting. Mitch Miller Playing Along. Dig that blurb for 7" LPs! enjoy the same brilliant reproduction that this LP record gives you with COLUMBIA 7 - INCH LP RECORDS for popular hits * brief Masterworks * folk music * play them on your 33 1/3 automatic record changer or LP player attachment
  10. Jerry Newman, the same guy who bought us all that jazz also brought us some of THIS too! Great music, great playing, stuffy boxroom sound, real-time like a mo, PLUS red vinyl on a thickass 10" platter.A listener in search of accurate chronoambiance could be forgiven for finding it all a bit exciting!

  12. Of course there's data being used. But it's not necessarily being charged for.
  13. Columbia 10" from 1950. Delightful performances not available elsewhere, afaik, not even on 12".
  14. 10" Columbia from 1949. Note the paper sleeve with the flip-over top! The lack of now-modern sonics is refreshing. There is a bit of suspense in Walter's reading, and this just accentuates it in my mind.
  15. I get it free, but there's ads. If you're old enough (and I think you are), you remember listening to the radio and hearing ads. Same thing, only the ads on Spotify are a LOT less intrusive, imo. As far as data, you'd have to look at your plan. I get Pandora free of any data charge with my T-Mobile. Keep in mind though, that if you use Wi-Fi, that's not going to count against your data usage. Besides, most plans give you an option for unlimited data. Not always as "unlimited" as the word implies, but still.
  16. Depends on who you get to do it.

  18. Why can't one just get the lowest end standard audio equipment and then get an after-market CD/etc player installed?
  19. Where's Roy?
  20. Les Paul meets Perry Botkin Sr. They get along just fine.
  21. Love to see an arm rest fully utilized.
  22. This is a good record.
