  8. A very good list of the Nocturn label [ CD's / 12" LP's / 10" LP's / 7" EP's] can be found here on Discogs https://www.discogs.com/label/82366-Nocturne-Records I have the Fresh Sound 3 CD box with the reissued Items. The Virgil Gonsalves 6tet can be found on an OPMEGA LP (reissued by V.S.O.P. Records as VSOP 24) titled "Jazz At Monterey" along with the Virgil Gonsalves/Jerry Counoyer big band. In addition to that the original Nocturne NLP 1 & NLP 6 have been reissued by Toshiba-EMI Ltd. in Japan. All mentioned Items in my stock. Pix available on request

  14. Thanks Fabio, yes looks very interesting. Any source available? Have about 1.500 reels/Cassette tapes with unissued material and only a small portion digitized I do collect only specials like the one mentionerd above if the quality is first rate. Willie
  15. For me with a lot of Kenton Items in the collection these are the 2 discs I favourite most: a) New concepts of artistry in rhythm b) Contemporary concepts.

  17. Thanks for that. Have to look it up. Hilton Ruiz on bord is great. Here you can find more on a list of his recordings https://www.discogs.com/de/artist/253367-George-Coleman
  18. Was a treat for sure .... It really was. They came from Laren, Netherlands, where they played several concerts in November 1981
  19. Mentioning George Coleman (in the Hilton Ruiz thread) reminds me of a concert we had in our private jazzclub in Koblenz, Germany with the George Coleman Octet on Dec. 02, 1981 George Coleman (ts & Leader) / Sal Nistico (ts) / Danny Moore (tp) / Mario Rivera (bs) / Bobby Watson (as) / Harold Mabern (p) / Clint Houston (b) / Billy Higgisns (dr) Here is the only LP I have fom the GC Octet with slighly different band members: Affinity AFF 178 (reissue of original Catalyst LP) Fotos from the Koblenz concert will follow
  20. 21. Great. I like his style very much (even as Bill Evans & Oscar Peterson fan). Living in a small town near the Rhine river there is not much live jazz available.
  22. On top of this thread the artist looked like a sax player to me. But he is obviously not the leader So you seem to be correct. The speaker in that clip looks like the Hilton Ruiz I know so I have to correct my post. Thanks for the INFO ;-}}
  23. I have that album on CD and it gets its spin every year to the holidays. A fine sound for me but not as adventurous as "Contemporary Concepts" with the great Bill Holman arrangemets ;-]]
  24. More Hilton Ruiz playing jazz. Here is his LP on the DENON label A real hard "cookin'" crew with long solos and great soloists. Highly recommended.
  25. Yes agreed. It is not a normal "cover art" book [my fault]. Some other member informed me about the thread of written material where it belongs. So hopefully that matter is vleared. Thanks
