  6. To get back to the original subject there was a nice piece with an interesting point of view from a writer who is an authority for classical music. Here's the link, unfortunately it's only in French, if i have spare time i'll translate it. http://www.cyberpresse.ca/article/20070906...1/6975/CPARTS03

  13. ....saw them last weekend....fun show! m~ Very fine show, the Orchestra was actually a sextet for this very small venue. Rythm section, vibes, sax, trumpet and flute. Nice ensemble play with georgous musical motifs, let's give kudos to the vibraphone player Jason Adasiewicz and especially to the very very talented Nicole Mitchell. First set was as good as it gets music wise. The best piece was the third one which to my suprise was never recorded and does not have a name, the song among its many charms features Nicole Mitchell's voice. Unfortunately during the second set noisy people kept talking throughout it so it was hard to concentrate on the music. Nonetheless, for 10 $ gotta say it was still the steal of the century
  14. Well Super Saturday turned into boring second round tuesday. Best game of the competition was Djokovic against Stepanek. Let's hope for more magic tonight.
  15. Well, at least they have all those nice King pressings in Tokyo's vinyl shops. Indeed! I didn't take NEARLY enough money to Japan in 2002! England 28-3 to USA. But from what I see in BBC blog commentary (football on other side), USA showing up well from time to time. MG If there is one problem with this competition is that they are a lot of teams who are mostly looking for moral victories. I didn't get it, sorry, I mean what Italy are supposed to do against ALL BLACKS, or U.S. against ENGLAND? Men, it's like a W. Allen vs M. Alì match, and Woody would consider a moral victory if his heirs could have his whole corpse without have to look for pieces around the Madison Square Garden. I know that, i don't blame the teams for aiming for a moral victory. I'm lamenting that they are too many teams in this tournament who are there mostly as sacrificial lambs. The gap is too big between certain teams. The sport by itself is so uncompromising that gives us results that are along the lines of a NCAA top football team against a high school team.

  18. Agreed, both games were a dissappointment, Federer looked human today, an upset brewing for tomorrow maybe ? Let's hope the ladies will give us something wothwhile tonight.
  19. Djokovic is still on his hot streak that made him win in Montreal and he'll take part in his first grand slam final.
