Saw her, at the time of Dreamland, she looked stoned on stage. She was back at the Festival two years ago, most people i know who went told me that she was a big disapointment. The few critics who reviewed her show weren't quite favorable also. If she improved, good for her.

I know a fellow from Scotland who calls football (aka soccer) "footy." I'll buy a boxset if the artists does interest me regardless whether i have already stuff from him. Gotta say it's more convenient buying those sets than buying individual cds of musicians and figuring out whether you already have it or not.

I'm a fan of the genre and what they called alternative country. I would suggest Calexico, Lambchop and one of my favourite live band The Sadies. For the girls i suggest Neko Case and Kathryn Williams.

The music in some case maybe overrated but it remains the only way to access in that fashion an ensemble of music that would be pretty hard to get otherwise. Seriously do you know a lot of companies who would work out a box set of guys like Horace Parlan. Mosaic is overrated like Mozart is overrated it wouldn't the same without him.

I suggest you hit the used cd store Cheap Thrills also there is a bunch of used cd stores on Mont-Royal st that are worth checking out. I would try to turn the discussion to something else or ask if she likes other kind of music. If she asked me to put some jazz i would go with Ben Webster Music for loving or maybe a singer like Helen Merrill, if the bit.. starts telling me that Kenny G is greater i would put some Akosh S Unit or some John Zorn that should teach her

Thanks guys, unfotunately i learned about Mosaic too late, there is a whole lot stuff that is not available anymore that i would have gladly bought. I think it will take me at least two or three months of listening before going through all that stuff, i'm going to do what i usually do which is watching Footy and listening to my music at the same time.
