  1. "We are the world, we are the children..."
  2. Thanks a lot, Big Wheel! This helps a lot, great lead.
  3. It may have been recorded but, to my knowledge, it has never been issued. "Impressions" (mistitled as "So What" on all Cobblestone issues) is the only recording with Kirk that has been released.
  4. Can anyone identify the name of the theme (?) that's played as intro to "Evidence" from the 1979 Jerry Gonzales "Ya Yo Me Cure"? I've heard this in other contexts and someone told me that it could be a traditional. Thanks. mp3 sample
  5. Yes, according to Michael Chapman the guy who was supposed to play had an accident on another movie and couldn't show up.
  6. Though I haven't heard Weber on acoustic bass yet, it would be a surprise to me if this was him.
  7. If you have anything to offer (trade, sale), please send private message. Thank you!
  8. Amen.
  9. I used RazorLame, 320 kbps, stereo, variable bitrate disabled.
  10. Thanks for this cool, pianoless disc, couw! Listened to it twice and enjoyed most of it. 1. Nice overture. It doesn't leave a strong impression on me. I have no clue who this could be. 2. Roach on drums? Otherwise, same comments as above. 3. 4. My first thought was Mangelsdorff but it would be a surprise to me if it's him. This track starts very promising but somehow it never really takes off - it keeps you waiting for something that won't happen. 5. Moody stuff, very good. Perfect soundtrack for beer drinking while feeling sorry for oneself. No clue who the players could be. 6. Had to skip this track. It didn't mesh well with my Tinnitus (sound wise). 7. A Parker tune (?) + "Straight, No Chaser." 8. I absolutely dislike the sound of the bass. The bass player ruins this for me. 9. Don't like the rock beat combined with the busy soprano saxophone. 10. Hurray! AMG link I like this song very much - the "dirty" sounding el-bass with lots of fret noise, F.B.'s voice, all those noises, everything. 11. Funny tango! The octaves on the bass make me laugh. 12. 13. 14. Beautiful! One of the few discs I have by this artist. Need to get more. AMG link Isn't the bass's final note (2:21) pretty strange?! Thanks for remindung us of the BFT#4 discussion. 15. "Lover Man," I have not the slightest idea who this alto player is.
  11. While you may not want to hear what I have to say, I would strongly recommend that you amend the comment regarding "liberal-minded people might take offence to that remark seeing as it implies that all Argentinians are crooks like this seller." Some not liberal-minded people might take offence to that remark seeing as it implies that non liberals won't take offence to that remark.

  13. I think there's not much going on in the treble range on "Blue In Green" so this could be the most difficult choice. Weizen suggested "Freddie Freeloader" - what do you think? Yes, the track order will be randomly selected. Before you post your answers, I'll provide you with a link to a password protected zip file that includes the track order so that cheating is impossible. Milan, sorry - lost your address. Please send it via private message, thanks.
  14. Yes. May I forward a blank disc for you to use? Fine, thanks for participating (not necessary to send me a blank). Please PM your address. Pick a tune from "Kind of Blue" (I have the Columbia CK 64935 [sBM CD] release), please. If you prefer a tune from another album, please suggest one.
  15. A very good site indeed! Thanks for that link. It seems to me as if these thingies cost me sleep, it's 6:39 AM already.
  16. November 1991 (age 17), found a cassette labeled "Weather Report - Mysterious Traveler/Cannonball Adderley - Country Preacher" in my father's car, listened to it, liked it immediately and bought WR's "Heavy Weather" and that Cannonball Adderley Quintet album the next day.
