  1. The mp3 format is, no matter how bad the quality might be, a valid and useful format and its sound quality was not subject of this thread. Anyway, pick a tune from "Kind Of Blue" and I'll send you a disc that has 10 tracks consisting of the tune of your choice, two tracks will be encoded to mp3 at 320 kbps before burning. I don't want to argue with you about the inferiority of the mp3 format (you're right of course - it is a lossy format) nor do I want to imply that I don't believe that you are capable of identifying the mp3s. I'm just curious and it would be cool if you would accept the challenge. Any takers?
  2. Some other Commodore related links: C64: http://www.ccs64.com/ http://www.server3-amiga-island.de/html/c6...iele_von_a.html http://www.c64unlimited.net/ AMIGA: http://www.winuae.net/ http://www.server3-amiga-island.de/html/amiga-games_a.html The Amiga emulator can be a pain to configure properly.
  3. Please forgive my ignorance, Noj. The software link I provided is for Windows systems and I'm not sure whether there's a Mac version available yet.
  4. I'm not knowledgeable but this problem (physical damage, transmission errors) occured to me several times and in most cases it was possible to recover/decode such files with the RazorLame/Lame mp3 software.
  5. Yesss.
  6. Burning audio CDs from mp3 sources at higher speed than 4x results in flaws with my burner (LiteOn LTR-52246S). The music will sound as if a flanger effect has been applied. I can burn audio CDs from wav at 52x speed and mp3s at 4x without any problems. So, if you want to burn audio CDs from mp3s and you're tired of decoding them to wav first, try to burn at low speed (4x) - if you haven't already tried that.
  7. M.A.M.E. Marble Madness ROM Save the ROM file in MAME's ROM drawer (do not unzip it!).
  8. You did a great job, it looks just like the device in the game. Wizball was, and still is, one of my favorite games. Used to play it with my girlfriend back then and we actually finished these 8 levels in team player modus. I too am using the CCS64 emulator but for Marble Madness: forget the C64 version of this game. The arcade version is the real deal. Download the MAME emulator to check out the arcade version. Besides Marble Madness, there are thousands of nice arcade games for MAME available on the net. Thanks for the heads up. Will check it out. Yes, long live Paradroid!
  9. Paradroid! Now I can't go to bed. Thanks, b-3er.

  11. I love Moondog's music and don't give a damn about how I could label his music. He never claimed to be a Jazz composer or whatever and he certainly didn't make music store owners to put his discs in the Jazz section. If you want to put a label on him, name it "One who cared about the rules of counterpoint." Great Moondog site: http://www.moondogscorner.de Complete discography, interviews, photos, ... a great site. They also made the rare "Moondog And His Honking Geese" available on CD - two tracks, EUR 9. Besides Moondog and Moondog 2 on CBS, there are two Prestige CDs available: "Moondog," "More Moondog." Check out the site, there's more music available that's worth checking out (for example his "A New Sound Of An Old Instrument" on the Kopf label. Some of his 1950ies vinyls can be found on eBay).
  12. Having not listened to it in the last eight years or so, I put it in the CD player this evening because of this thread. I like Shorter's solo on "So What," otherwise I find this disc tiring. Will try to trade it for burgers.
  13. I did not know how to handle a gun before I was in the military, yet I was aware how dangerous weapons are.

  20. Buffalo '66 Billy (Vincent Gallo): What are you doin', what are you doin'! Layla (Christina Ricci): What?! Billy: Don't touch me - alright, don't touch me. Layla: What do you mean - "don't touch me" 'cause we're husband and wife. Billy: We're a couple that doesn't touch one another. We like each other - we like each other a lot and we span time together. We just don't touch each other, alright? Let's span time... let's use a different color - in the back... do blue, alright. This is the blue period... get up, get up... don't touch me again. Just look like you like me and let's span time, alright? You got that? Yes or no? Layla: Yes. Billy: Ok, I don't wanna waste any more money, it's my last two dollars I'm putting in. Yes or no? Layla: Yes. Billy: Alright, you do it for me. If you don't wanna do it - don't do it. Layla: No, no - I'll do it. Billy: Ok. Let's look like we like each other and span time - and do not touch me. Ok, do not touch me. Layla: Ok. Billy: Do not kiss me. Alright, come on...
