  1. MP3 to cd-r can be played anywhere (unless you burn a data disc). There's no difference to an audio disc compiled of wavs or tracks copied directly from cd. Why is a webserver a bad idea? With the money that's going to be spent on postage and cd-rs a webspace could be rented. Re legal issues: spreading the music via cd-r is legal but via internet it isn't?
  2. #21. 00:00-08:03 silence 08:03-08:28 laughter 08:28-11:16 silence 11:16-12:39 telephone conversation Is this identical with the LP release? If not, I might have to get it to hear more silence.
  3. I am a dork. Track #20 is "Conversation" which is also on Separate But Equal: The Case of the 3 Sided Dream in Audio Color/Part of the Search.
  4. I'm looking for a listing of 1960ies/1970ies AEC concert dates (the web doesn't offer too much). If anyone could help, that would be great. Thanks.
  5. Since Soderbergh's film is called "Solaris" I expected that there's more of its (Lem's Solaris) content left. Clooney is part of its success? Why? Is there anything special about his performance in this film?
  6. I haven't heard anything with Dick Griffin apart from his work with Rahsaan Roland Kirk. I like his solo on "Fly By Night" (from "The Inflated Tear") very much. Thanks for the suggestion.
  7. I'm with Dmitry, you can't compare. Didn't like the Solaris remake at all. Soderbergh reduced the material to a boring love story. Tarkovsky on Solaris | Lem on Tarkovsky's film adaption Stanislaw Lem
  8. mp3 via web server would be good.
  9. Would like to get rid of my Bobby Hutcherson "The Kicker" Conn. If interested please send me a list of items you have to offer. I'm located in Austria. Thanks, Thomas therockecenter@yahoo.com.au

  11. Fried potatoes w/onions, fried egg, ketchup, beer (in this case it was water by mistake):
  12. hehehehehe
  13. My avatar? Thanks, Schrdlu. (A colleague of mine has drawn this on a piece of cardboard a couple of years ago, before I went on vacation. He told me that this thing will eat me after my aircraft crashed into the Atlantic.)
  14. www.goldwave.com Good wave editor, easy to use. The free demo version has all the functions you need. Usage Limit The toll counter in the status bar gives you a rough idea of the benefit you have received from using GoldWave. This shareware version is limited to 150 commands each session. When the limit is reached, a toll message will appear whenever you use a control in the Device Controls window. Exiting and restarting GoldWave will let you use another 150 commands without interruption. By registering, you will receive a license that removes this toll counter completely.
  15. There's a problem on the about, biographies, photos and music pages. The pictures are linked to your local hard disk. The site looks very good though I don't like the font you're using, for example, on the "contact" page (the last four lines <For questions... - Email info@organissimo.org> are below the beige background. Not sure if that's intended).
  16. Rudolph Johnson, "The Second Coming" (1973) Kent L. Brinkley b; Douglas J. Sides, dr; Kirk Lightsey p; Rudolph Johnson ts, arr. http://www.blackjazz.com/
  17. This is an absurd generalization/assumption. I, for example, like improvised music/jazz very much and am absolutely not relaxed. Can't see a relation between relaxation and improvised music.
  18. "The One-Man Twins" (Montreux '72 footage) is not 100% identical to the "I, Eye, Aye" CD. Amazon, Rhino have it for $ 20. Go to Michael Fitzgerald's Kirk discography for details: http://www.eclipse.net/~fitzgera/rahsaan/rrkdisc.htm
  19. Alan Hovhaness, Hovhaness bio on allclassical.com, Harry Partch, Moondog. Hope I'm not way off topic with these suggestions.
