  1. The Prestige album with Spiderman on the cover is KILLER!
  2. You should check out Ginastera's ballet "Panambi." Imagine if Debussy had written "Rite of Spring" and not Stravinsky.
  3. The I-Spy music was great. There were actually 2 I-Spy LPs: One on Warner and one on Capitol. There is/was also an I-Spy CD available from Film Score Monthly.
  4. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/...0,1794901.story
  5. So are B. Bopstein and Izzy Goldberg part of the Fourth Stream?
  6. Don't think so. I may have passed up trashed copy once. Why do you ask?
  7. I'm a sucker for that eastern-tinged psych-jazz. All of Gabor's Impulse and Skye albums are worth picking up. Also, Chico Hamilton's 60s Impulse albums with Gabor on Guitar.
  8. Sonny - Inner Views (Atco, stereo)
  9. Gabor Szabo - Bacchanal (Skye)
  10. Did anyone mention Izzy Goldberg? One of the great bebop pioneers.
  11. Lalo Schifrin - Once a Thief - Verve (mono)
  12. Pepper Adams - 10 to 4 at the 5 Spot - Riverside (stereo, OJC reissue)
  13. Clare Fischer - Manteca! Pacific Jazz (mono)

  18. Herbie Mann et tu Flute - Verve stereo 2fer collection of his Verve stuff.
  19. Bearcat - Clifford Jordan - Jazzland stereo (OJC reissue)
  20. The mono still sounds better at this point, by choice or by accident.
  21. Tina Brooks - True Blue - Blue Note stereo (Japanese reissue) Played back in mono for optimum sound, as RVG surely intended.
  22. One of the coolest instruments ever. I will be happy to take any CDs or LPs off your hands with celeste. Villa Lobos and Les Baxter, two giants of 20th century music, used the celeste to great effect.
  23. Art Pepper + Eleven - Marty Paich - Contemporary stereo (OJC Reissue).
  24. Paul Desmond/Jim Hall - Bossa Antigua - RCA stereo (Japan pressing, 70s logo but non-dynaflex).
  25. 14! That's Numberwang!
