  1. I'm not knocking the guy. I just think there's something inherently funny about his being signed to Starbucks Records and Tapes. Years ago, when I first saw his fat, tattooed and pierced drummer, I joked, "That guy looks like he just finished his shift at Starbucks." Now I wonder if there wasn't something to my theory after all.
  2. That's my Paul McCartney face...
  3. Because his fan base, which hasn't been to a record store for the past 20 years, regularly shops at Starbucks...
  4. Having Mexican food for dinner. What else could I POSSIBLY play except:
  5. MONO Copy! I don't care what the Brazil snobs say; These Brasil '66 records are KILLER!
  6. Here are the LPs/CDs that I have. I'd like to know if there's a general consensus among Sun Ra experts as to the really essential titles, and based on what I have, which ones I absolutely need: My Brother the Wind, Vol. II Jazz in Silhouette The Futuristic Sounds of (Savoy) Monorails and Satellites Fate in a Pleasant Mood/When Sun Comes Out Spaceship Lullaby (The Vocal Groups) Outer Space Unemployment Agency (Live 1973) Sun Song Sound of Joy "Strange Strings" is on my want list.
  7. Jacques Brel - La Fanette - appears to be a collection of Barclay recordings on Peters International.
  8. OH, MY!...
  9. MAJOR Brian Auger fan here! Don't have too much by the Trinity (a best of) but have most or all of the Oblivion Express albums. "Closer To It" is my fave.
  10. I don't think anyone's mentioned "The Ballad of Todd Rundgren," his second album. "The Wailing Wall" and "Be Nice to Me" are on that one.
  11. Nazz albums were very uneven. You may be better off with a "Best of."
  12. Never heard of her...
  13. Let's talk Serge...
  14. Funny how you outgrow certain styles and artists, and keep coming back to others. While I don't find myself listening to my TR records very often, I'm kind of amazed at how they affect me when I do play them. Anyone else share this experience?
  15. I have a couple of things similar to these, that don't have individualized slots: They're mounted on the wall. When you ditch the jewel cases and put discs in flat, soft sleeves, you'd be amazed at the number of CDs you can store in a small amount of space.
  16. Brownie, you're killing me! That Barney Kessel Cover is AMAZING!!!!!
  17. I thought it was funny when a fifties session would get reissued in the 70s, and they would slap a picture on the cover of the artist in the 70s, with muttonchop sideburns and a bad combover.
  18. ARRRRGGGGHHHHH! I LOVE THE SHEARING CARAVAN COVER!!!!
  19. Maybe the first album that mixed electronics and jazz:
  20. I like that last one! It reminds me of the cover of Morricone's Malamondo soundtrack.
  21. Andre Previn, My Fair Lady, Columbia 2 eye mono.
