  1. Bach! Humbug! - George Gruntz - US Philips (mono).
  2. A stereo copy, unfortunately, but what a nice ((((stereophonic)))) Verve label! Edit: This must be one of the WORST stereo mixes I've heard on a jazz LP of this era...
  3. The Double Six of Paris - US Capitol debut LP, mono. My Dad's copy. What a hipster...
  4. I love "So Many Stars" and "Like a Lover." Lani Hall is very underrated.
  5. Yes, it's one of those rare albums that doesn't really sound quite like any other.
  6. One of the greatest LP covers ever...
  7. What a KILLER record this is!!!
  8. Still looking for a mono copy of this one...
  9. Kevin Ayers - Yes We Have No Mananas - ABC
  10. With Luiz Bonfa and Roberto Menescal. The liner notes inform us that Mrs. Kennedy was a bossa nova enthusiast!
  11. "An album of musical love-dreams for moog synthesizer and strings" Contains a KILLER version of "Like a Lover" from Brasil 66's "Look Around" LP.
  12. I say we post all classical music topics on the organ forum...
  13. Occupational hazard of being a harmonica player.
  14. Stanley Wilson, Pagan Love (Based on his soundtrack for "The Mating Urge") Capitol mono.
  15. Any thoughts on Krystian Zimerman? I love his recording of Barcarolle...
  16. Does Bill Evans play piano (uncredited) on side 2 of the "David & Lisa" soundtrack album on AVA? Victor Feldman is the leader on the date, playing vibes, with piano bass and drums. The bass and drums are credited but not the piano. The melodic minor triads the piano player uses over minor ii-V-I progressions are very reminiscent of Bill Evans' playing at the time.
  17. David & Lisa OST, Ava, Stereo. The soundtrack side is sleepy, but the "Jazz impressions of" side, by Victor Feldman, is nice. Is that Bill Evans on piano?
  18. Ramsey Lewis, The Movie Album, Cadet mono. Discussion of the Bill Evans Ogerman album inspired me to spin this. Not so great, but a few tracks are worthwhile.
  19. "Afro-Cuban Jazz," a 70s Verve twofer reissue of classic stuff by Bird, Diz, Machito and Chico O'Farrill.
  20. Never knew that! Good score on this one; it's pretty tough to find in vinyl.
  21. The "songs" or the arrangements? I'd say it's a really good selection of songs. I have no idea how they're interpreted, though, having never heard the album.
  22. Sure, den, call it dat. Seriously, I was simply addressing the irony of reissuing music that is readily available in the dollar bin at every thrift store and used record store...
