  1. If the system works, it can work for pretty much any decent QB plugged into it. If you take the star QB out and someone else comes in and does just as well, they are system QB's. Cassel and Young being the two examples I gave. How do you explain them having the same level of success of the guys they replaced? And why did Cassel fall flat on his face in KC? They brought the same offensive system from New England. If the QB goes down and their replacement shits up the joint, a la what happened in both Green Bay and Indianapolis, it's not the system. It's the QB. In 1993, many "experts" had the Dolphins pegged to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. They came roaring out to a 4-1 start when Marino went down for the season. They tried Scott Mitchell, Doug Pederson, and Steve DeBerg who led the team to 9-7, missing the playoffs. It wasn't the system, it was Marino. Some QB's are just heads and shoulders better than all others. Guys like Marino, Manning, Rodgers, and Elway weren't/aren't system QB's. They were/are freaks of nature. And it has nothing to do with the systems. Sorry. Same could also be said if Favre.
  2. You may want to first learn what "system quarterback" actually means. A system quarterback is one that plays and has success due to the system. And the system can plug almost any quarterback into it and still remain successful. Take the Bill Walsh system as an example. Never missed a beat when Montana went down and Young had to step in, did it? Or how about the year Brady went down in New England and Matt Cassel, fucking MATT CASSEL, led them to an 11-5 record? Now, tell me how Green Bay did this season after Rodgers went down? How about when the Colts magically went from 10-6 to 2-14 when Manning sat out the season. No, brother. There is a huge difference between a true system QB, and those whose skills exceed all others and personally carry their teams. And Rodgers makes more plays after a play has broken down because he is incredibly athletic and mobile. That has absolutely zero to do with the system he plays in.
  3. LOL I love reading the opinions of those who have seemingly not watched much football. Manning. A system QB?!?! Hahaha... Um, yeah...
  4. Hmmm... While you're points are quite valid, Larry, I don't see how that invalidates the fact that defense indeed wins championships. If nothing else it actually strengthens the argument. Check this out: http://sportspressnw.com/2176870/2014/no-1-offense-vs-no-1-defense-the-winner-is As for Flacco, I thought it took a ship of fools to sign him to such an absurd contract. I'd have let him go and not looked back. The simple fact is that he isn't a very good NFL QB. And those punts he threw all throughout the playoffs last year where defensive backs fell down or blew assignments didn't really help his case.
  5. "Blowed". As in, "I done blowed the snow off of the sidewalk over yonder".
  6. You're a real rinner brosef!
  7. Actually, it makes me think "snake oil". And though it's not entirely applicable in this case, it most certainly holds true for the overall marketing the title implies.
  8. Mastering will no doubt show excessive compression and loudness. FTW!!!!
  9. Well, like I said at that thread then. pictures are copyrighted as well, so I'd expect that yes. That cover of "sound of silence" is well known, and the owner of the work deserves to be compensated for the use of it. Btw an artist has copyright as soon as a work is created. You do not need to declare or register your work anywhere but it helps when you do so since you can prove a work is yours or was already yours at a certain time. When you'd ask permission first, an artist might be honoured and might give his/her permission without asking for money, f.e. when it is for use of something non-commercial. Back in the old days artists would mail their copyrighted material to themselves so that they'd have them in a time stamped, unopened envelope. Not sure if many still do that, but I found that fact to be pretty fascinating when I first learned of it many moons ago.
  10. Well, it's actually a interesting question. Are titles without an actual accompanying track still IP? The track is copyrighted, but is the title? I wouldn't think so.
  11. Not that much crazier than what a music scribe once stated in mockery: "No doubt there are fans out there who will be all excited to go out and buy a 24-LP box set of Elvis brushing his teeth." (Jazz lovers might like to substitute Bird or Miles here ) Exactly!
  12. Yep, and probably felt like punching Kevin Gilbride again.
  13. The sickest part being there is some over-the-top audiophile out there who will get this and listen to it intently. Then tell anyone who will listen to his insane ramblings how fascinating the varying timbres of silence were. And how his "highly resolving" rig really brought out the nuance of each piece, and how you could hear the size of each room the silent passages were recorded in. Not to mention track 6 on a continuous loop for an hour because he swears he can hear the producer breathing in the next room over.
  14. Nothing bizarro about that game. Defense still wins championships, even if some folks want to believe otherwise. Denver is all offense, no defense. And that offense hadn't played any defense that was worth a shit all year. Nothing about last night surprised me. I found it very satisfying.
  15. Where's the sexy album covers thread with nothing but men on them? Honestly, the whole equal time thing is pretty silly.
  16. Whatever gets you through the night.
  17. Just awful. So talented, so young. Apparent drug overdose. Just fucking sad...
  18. Um, the photos in my link are less than a month old. You were saying?
  19. Well, Larry doesn't think she is, but based on his reasoning, and considering the photographic evidence of just a few weeks ago, chances are he may need to renew his eyeglass prescription.
  20. Pardon? Are we talking about the same Diane Keaton? Here she was at the Golden Globes just a few weeks ago. Not bad for 68. And I'm not seeing an enormous anything in these pictures. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/12/diane-keaton-golden-globes-2014-suit-photos_n_4586976.html If anything she may be a little too thin.
  21. Diane Keaton and Jane Seymour might be the hottest 60+ year old women in the history of 60+ year old women!
  22. Right! Everyone should keep their opinions to themselves. Sorry, the internet has now ended.
  23. Ever check out the sexiest album covers thread? I don't recall you going on a moral crusade over that thread.
  24. What's the point in telling a global forum anything? I don't say this insultingly, but you know as well as everyone else that you are the god esoteric and free-association nonsense. And although I wouldn't have started this thread, I don't see the problem with it. People post things to start a conversation. And for some reason GA wanted to air his feelings about this model. I've seen many attractive women in their 60's. This model isn't one of them, but so what?
  25. Perhaps. I'm just saying that for me personally, buying the same goddamn album over and over again for small improvements, or bonus tracks, gets old quickly.
