Miles and Trane are on their own planets and I love to travel there! When I get back to earth, my favorite best performances remain The Jazz Messengers at Café Bohemia and Art Blakey's quintet with Clifford Brown, Lou Donaldson, Horace Silver at Birdland!

Wish there was a complete (and legit) release of the Mutualité November 1965 concerts. There were two concerts that evening with a double bill of Ornette Coleman and Sonny Rollins trios. A beret-wearing Rollins appeared then with Gilbert Rovere on bass and Art Taylor on drums. The Ornette Coleman trio played another concert at the Palais de la Mutualité in March 1966.

Those days are long gone unfortunately. However there are many great and reasonably priced Loire reds (Cabernet Franc) such as Bernard Baudry, Languedoc Roussillon, Rhone, Beaujolais and other areas but you have to know your producers and importers. Too true...have given up on the top Bordeaux wines years ago. I concentrate now on wines from lesser French regions particularily from Languedoc-Roussillon such as those from Lionel Maurel. Excellent natural growths...
