If I am the laughingstock, why does my position coincide with those of everyone else who has posted on this thread except for you? If I am the laughingstock, why do I have a collection of PMs from people saying in one form or another, "don't let up on that idiot Goodspeak"? Why is that in all the time this thread has existed, not a single person has come to your defense in any way, shape or form? Why is it that my arguments are no different from others, and when you respond to these arguments, people tell you that you A] are changing the subject OR B] make no logical sense You are sad. You are pathetic. That makes you a JOKE, AKA, a LAUGHINGSTOCK. -

...nice! to the cheater! m Your proof? Why is this concept so hard to grasp for you guys, anyway? How about the leaked grand jury testimony? Whether it was illegally leaked or not, it's damning. That's pretty solid evidence. So....you're OK with cheating the legal system, but you have a problem with ballplayers cheating with steriods? Hm. Am I the only one here who sees something wrong with that? ONE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OTHER. The fact that this does not penetrate your skull is only one reason why you remain a laughingstock among anyone who reads this thread. A laughingstock without the slightest trace of credibility in your defense of the man you love so deeply. -

That's pretty solid evidence. You don't get it, Aggie - proof, in goody's world, only exists if someone testifies that they witnessed Bonds use steroids, or if Bonds 'fesses up himself. Nothing else constitutes proof. -

Thanks Jon, though we're trying to get away from starches like baked potatos. Fish works for my wife but I'm not such a fan ... -

Help My Wife and I Eat Better and Lose Weight

Two of the things that annoyed me about the macrobiotic approach have already been contradicted here - fruit (which I do eat regularly anyway) because its supposedly mostly sugar and not really that nutrient rich; and water consumption (this guy actually claimed that men should urinate three times a day, women twice, and the urine actually should be a dark yellow, whereas I've always been told that urine should be clear and if its not, it means you are dehydrated. -

2000+ more votes have occurred since I posted that, 20 minutes ago. Basically the same results though. I agree it's not scientific, and some people are probably voting more than once. But I also think it's probably pretty representative, as well. Oh, who are we kidding Erik? We know its just a creation of the lying scoundrels in the media. No one is actually voting in that poll, its just a media creation, so-called "support" for their "Big Lie". -
My wife and I want to make some serious changes to our diets and after reading a tract (thank God it wasn't a tome) on Macrobiotic diets, it occurred to me that maybe I've got a much better source at hand - this community. So, if you believe that you eat a relatively healthy diet*, please share your diet/exercise regimen, or at least some favorite recipes. We want to add more veggies so tasty side dish recipes are especially helpful, as well as advice on effective diet/lifestyle changes. Thanks!

Yes. Oh, and I got that album FOR Bryant, not Griffin. I really like Paul Bryant's playing, though his PJ and Riverside appearances don't quite do him justice. You have to find his two Fantasy LPs to get him at his best. (And you also get some superb Plas Johnson on those.) This is a superb set. I had all of it except "Groovin' blue" on LP before I bought it, and "Katanga on CD as well, but wasn't deterred from getting the Mosaic. Decades of wonderful entertainment in this stuff. MG thank you! seems like they forgot another volume in the Legends of Acid Jazz Series... No, they didn't forget. I wrote to Fantasy about a decade ago and suggested the release of these two, which would fit OK onto one CD, but they replied that they didn't want to release it, thanks. MG Part of me understands their decision in that few people knew or remember Paul Bryant. But with Plas getting so much solo space, they certainly could have promoted by referencing the "Pink Panther Saxophonist". I only wish that my copies of his Fantasy albums were a lot cleaner than they are.

Unfortunately it can't be regarded as a scientific poll because of the self-selection bias. But that cuts both ways because it could be argued that Bonds supporters are the ones who are lapping up the media coverage and voting in the poll while Bonds detractors may be so sick of it that they don't even visit sites like ESPN. I know I haven't gone there today just as I stopped watching Sportscenter when it turned into a Bonds lovefest. Either way, with such a huge group of voters, its probably a fair snapshot of what your average sports fan believes. -

No. Closest he came was the '71 NLCS when he hit .250 in 8 ABs. His Giants lost in four games to the eventual champion Pirates. -
Lucky Goodspeak isn't here - I have a feeling that in his world, they'd all add up to 756.
-
same thing as 9 x 9 x 9. Which is how I thought I was doing it except I kept getting 9 to the fourth power instead. Maybe a sticky button ....
-
There seems to be a difference of opinion on number 4, due to the fact that my calculator doesn't understand 9 cubed.

the last one is 31/20.

4. is 2187
-
3. is zero.

Precisely. Our long, national nightmare is almost over, and we should be thankful. No more minute-by-minute updates. No more Giants games on TV. No more sell out crowds, no more press conferences, and no more attention given to an AARP roster floundering in last place with no hope for the future. Let the true countdown begin. The blessed day when he does his perp walk. -
By the way, Allbookstores.com has it listed as an August publication. I would guess that the 2020 date is the projected publication of the final volume.
-
If you google the title, you'll see that the West Orange Public Library may have a copy soon. Maybe 7/4 can tell us about it.

As a not quite so old geezer of 41, I totally agree.
-
I know you don't seriously believe that the Mariner Moose is "innocent", do you Matthew? That man came within inches of seriously injuring or even potentially killing a player because he is racing around the stadium on an ATV, and its the player's fault for not watching out for him?? The idiot is lucky he wasn't pulled from the vehicle and pummeled, which he surely would have been if Coco had been hit.

I've heard this cited as a defense of Bonds' performance. If the performance-enhancing supplements were this rampant, it stands to reason that many of the pitchers he was facing who were also cranked up on something. I'm not saying I agree with it, but it's not really fair to give one guy hell and not shell it out to everyone else too. I agree it's not fair and that all users should be cast into the Pit of Despair, but Bonds is in THE limelight because he is about to break the single most renowned sports record in the country. And because aside from Giambi, Sheffield, Palmiero, and a handful of lesser lights who've actually been caught, Bonds is the one player for whom the proof that he juiced is incontrovertible.

Yup, house price about 3X yearly wage.
