Well, first of all I have to mention that winning a game Randy Johnson starts (and hitting three homers off him for the first time in 45 starts) is SWEET! As for Sheffield, the replays looked to me that he didn't actually touch him, but apparently the swipe at the ball clipped his jaw. AMAZING that Sheffield takes a moment to shove the guy before throwing the ball in! What if it had been Damon motoring around and he tried to make it home, and Sheffield's pause to hit the guy let him score?! Not excusing the fan, he's an idiot, but the sight of Sheffield hitting the guy with the ball in his hand, then going back at him with a clenched fist, was stunning. As for the umpiring, Marty said my comlaining yesterday was 'beneath me' but I tell you what, when the manager and a coach get run out, and Johnson is stewing on the mound, too, you know the home plate umpire was terrible.

That was Vonzell with "Let's Hear it for the Boy", right? Yeah, she knocked that one out of the park, but I liked Nadia a lot, too. And the black guy with the long hair, he's pretty strong, too. But a little of the rockers goes a long way. And just to be clear, I haven't parked my butt in front of the tube religiously. Honest. I'm just waiting for that House dude to come on. Really.

Wasn't that the Mickaela girl, who got booted a couple of weeks back? I thought she did very well with it, I was definitely surprised to see her get the axe. But nothing is more surprising or annoying than the fact that the Russian kid who has the worst voice of any of them, not only hangs in, but doesn't even have to sweat it out in the final three. WTF? It just goes to show that there's an enormous population of teen and pre-teen girls who only care about Tiger Beat looks. So, the question becomes, why the fuck am I watching?

But those calls were horrible! It was the worst strike zone since Eric Gregg got the boot. It'll all depend on which Unit shows up tonite - the guy who pitched the opener or the guy who had to be bailed out by his teammates in his second start.

The least you can do is spell his name right. Jaret Baseball certainly is a funny game. One pitcher gets a win by throwing barely 50% of his pitches over the plate. The other one sails along, makes two mistakes, and gets beat. And lets not forget the pathetic home plate umpire, who gave Wright both of his punchouts on pitches that were at least six inches to a foot inside.

The issue actually makes me wonder: In those seasons that the Yankee legends didn't make the playoffs, how far out of first place were they? I would say that if it were five games or less, then probably even under the old East/West division system, the Yanks "make" the play-offs. But if there were seasons where the team finished 10+ out of first place ...

I need to go back and listen again, its been a while. Its not as exciting as you'd think, but its certainly worth hearing. I'd rate it higher than Night of the Cookers, but that's potentially pretty faint praise indeed!

Definitely count me as a fan, in fact I dig Rouse with Monk more than Coltrane or Rollins, unlike most people.

Well he pulled it out, barely. As much as this will count towards the legend of Tiger, I think you have to give so much credit to Dimarco for competing as well as he did. Three shots back on the final 9 and he forced a playoff. If Tiger hadn't made that unbelievable shot, or if Dimarco's first pitch on 18 had found the cup, it wouldn't have even gone to a playoff. As easy as it is to say that Tiger will break Nicklaus' record for majors, I think its just as likely that Dimarco will start winning some of those, too. Guy's got game.

I remember there was a write-up in the New York Times Magazine about the making of this documentary, and particularly about the therapist. I might watch but then again I never gave a shit about Metallica in the first place, so this would be like a Spice Girls documentary, but without the eye candy.
