Search with Bing, get Amazon gift cards
GA Russell replied to GA Russell's topic in Offering and Looking For...
I may be wrong, but I think that when I started this thread they gave me one point for every two searches. Now they give me one point for every three searches. Maybe that is for everyone, or maybe they are just throttling me. One habit that I have changed is that I go to Bing rather than straight to Wikipedia to look things up. Also, I am using Bing to find news articles about today's headlines. I didn't used to do that before. -

It seems like most years the quality of play is a bit ragged the first couple of weeks of the season, and I think that's true again this year. Stampeders 34....Argos 15 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4708701 The Stamps played without Jon Cornish, and didn't need him. ***** Lions 26....Riders 13 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4708736 Andrew Harris had a great game for BC. Sask just didn't play well. ***** Paul LaPolice points out that in the past 20 year, there have been only two weeks with more penalties than this one. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=457175 ***** Here are the key stats from Week 3. http://cfl.ca/article/2014-cfl-replay-a-look-back-at-week-3

Since we are getting paid in a small way to use Bing to search the internet, tonight I looked up a few old friends that I hadn't heard from in years. I've been stunned since learning two hours ago that a very sweet young lady who was a college classmate of mine and the girlfriend of a buddy of mine died of cancer two years ago. She was 61. On Monday I'll have a Mass said for her. -
Bombers 34....Als 33 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4708485 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/scores/boxscore/?id=1411704 What a game! See-saw battle. The Bombers took the lead with 28 seconds left, and time ran out on the Als. The word on Troy Smith is that he has gun for an arm, but he is not accurate. ***** Eskimos 27....Redblacks 11 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4708503 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/scores/boxscore/?id=1411705 Ottawa did very well in the first half, but Edmonton controlled the second half. Adarius Bowman caught three TD passes. ***** PS - The two teams who missed the playoffs last year, Winnipeg and Edmonton, are now the only teams undefeated, at 3-0. They will meet next week.

Article About The Aging Classic Rock Market
GA Russell replied to JSngry's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I believe that the term "Classic Rock" is trademarked by a radio station consulting company, and refers to 1970's fairly hard rock. The peak years of baby boomer births were 1956-1958, and it was in the '70s that these people were in high school. I read a while back that in almost every market the Classic Rock station was #3 in the Arbitron ratings, but I have no idea if that is still true. -

I came across a Jan. 30 BusinessWeek article on Sony's resurrection of the Okeh label, and its signing of Sonny Rollins. Although the jazz market is aging, Sony is going to go after it because jazz fans buy physical CDs. The article said that 14 million jazz albums were sold in 2007, but only 5 million last year. The author did not say whether those numbers are for the US market or worldwide. I suspect that the numbers include the smooth jazz people, but the article didn't say. http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-01-30/sony-targets-jazz-fans-with-okeh-record-label-revival

Alouettes 24....Lions 9 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4706642 The Als looked like a different team this week. Kevin Glenn threw another two INTs, making it 6 in two games. He threw only 7 all last year. ***** Eskimos 28....Ticats 24 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=456477 Great game! The Esks took the lead with a Grant Shaw FG with less than two minutes left. On the last play of the game, Ticat QB Dan LeFevour was stopped on a quarterback sneak from the two.
