  1. TSN power rankings http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/feature/?id=97698 ***** Top 10 Plays Week 18 video http://cfl.ca/video/index/id/91919 ***** Chris Schultz Week 19 picks http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/schultz/ All four games are meaningless this week, the final week of the regular season, so I imagine the picks won't be worth much.
  2. Live at the Winery is now available for downloading for $9.00. http://artpepper.bandcamp.com/album/unreleased-art-pepper-vol-viii-live-at-the-winery

  4. I guess you saw the other day that Amazon has raised the minimum threshold for Super Saver Shipping from $25 to $35. I imagine that this will spur many to sign up for Amazon Prime. http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/10/22/amazon-tightens-shipping-requirements/?_r=0
  5. Happy Birthday 2013 Guy!
  6. Did I just hear Johnny Gomes refer to the Red Sox as the only American team left?
  7. Here's the obstruction call from last night. It appears to me that the third baseman tripped over the baserunner, who then tripped over the third baseman. The third baseman was entirely in the field of play, and in the infield. Because his leg was between the base and home plate, I guess you could say that he was in the basepath, but I don't normally think of the infield as part of the basepath.
  8. P.S. I checked, even Connie Mack started with the Pirates before taking over the Phillies. I will admit that I thought he was a given before I checked. You mean the A 's, right?
  9. The Argos have signed former NFL first round pick Aaron Maybin. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=435191
  10. The first who comes to mind is Ralph Houk, who won the World Series with the '61 Yankees.
  11. I believe the year was 1986. I received a flyer from Mosaic, which I had not heard of before. I don't know how they got my address, perhaps an old Downbeat mailing list. I immediately ordered the first two sets they had issued: The Monk Blue Note and the Mulligan/Baker.
  12. after three: Dallas 13....Detroit 7 final score: Detroit 31....Dallas 30 http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/gameflash/2013/10/27/5512/

  14. Calgary Stampeders 29....Saskatchewan Roughriders 25 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=435143 http://cfl.ca/article/advantage-cornish-back-powers-stamps-past-riders Great second half see-saw battle. Kevin Glenn has been hot for the past month, but he didn't look so good today; so Hufnagel replaced him in the second half with Drew Tate (Remember him?), and Tate was very good. With the win the Stamps clinch first place in the West. So now the standings are set, and all four of next week's games will be meaningless. ***** Here's the video of Hamilton's Brandon Banks' missed field goal return. http://cfl.ca/video/index/id/91817
  15. This is the kind of story that makes you proud to be an American! http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/26/georgia-man-runs-into-burning-home-to-get-beer/?intcmp=latestnews
  16. British Columbia Lions 43....Edmonton Eskimos 29 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4634660 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=435053 This game was meaningless for the standings. The Lions will finish third, and the Eskimos will finish fourth. Travis Lulay is still out. Thomas DeMarco had two good games, but hasn't looked good since. He started off slowly last night, so Benevides pulled him in the second quarter for Buck Pierce. Edmonton led 15-1 with 3 minutes to go in the first half. Then it was like old times, as Pierce led the Lions to tie the game at 15 at the half, and they never looked back in the second half. ***** Hamilton Tiger-Cats 27....Montreal Alouettes 24 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4634763 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=435092 The Als dominated the entire game, but let this one slip away from them. Montreal led 16-0 midway through the second quarter, and 23-10 after three. With 3 1/2 minutes left in the game and a 23-20 lead, Sean Whyte attempted a 42-yard field goal. The snap was high, and the kick was ugly and fell short to the three, where Brandon Banks caught it and ran for a touchdown to win the game. With the win the Ticats clinch second place, and they will host the Als in the Eastern Semi-Final in two weeks.

I remember him as a star for the Celtics, but I also remember him as the ABL's biggest star when he jumped to that new league because they would let him coach.
