  1. Chuck, can you post your available catalog if it's not too voluminous? Uncle Sam was good to me this year and I might want some stuff. Thanks much.

  3. By piano-less jazz, I presume you mean with no other chording instrument, either, like vibes or guitar. Personally, I like it just fine and the sense of openeness it brings, but it really depends on who the players are, especially the horn player(s). Second-rate players couldn't handle it. I really dig those Elvin Jones BN recordings you're referring to. Joe Farrell was a monster player on those recordings. He played tenor, soprano and flute. So along with Jones and Jimmy Garrison, there's lots of variety which really makes those albums work well. I also think it sounds great when the horn player maintains the changes for his solo. That really helps to keep the listener involved and gives some guideposts along the way. What are the recordingswith Elvin Jones, Joe Farrell & Jimmy Garrison? Can you name some titles? Thank you for the help.

  11. I like Paypal just fine- if the Visa/Mastercard option isn't there, that's no problem for me. If it costs more to have Visa/Mastercard and you don't do a tremendous amount of sales that way, there's no big loss. If someone really wants a disc, they'll go with whatever way they have to go to pay for it. I suspect that many of Chuck's customers fall into that category.
  12. Or the Gil Evans/Hendrix that was supposed to happen.

  14. Tonight was chicken pieces marinated in some Emeril marinade(Garlic, Lemon & Rosemary) and a tomato salad.
  15. Maybe mix with a little bit of coconut milk, some scallions, a litle bit of hot pepper flakes, marinate some chicken pieces in that for a few hours, then bake at around 400 for about an hour. Alternately, marinate some chicken cutlets in that, broil them and mix with some greens or veggies on your favorite pita bread.

  25. I was motivated to quit when my wife was pregnant, but I knew I couldn't just quit cold turkey. I needed some aid to help me quit, and this was before the patches, gums, etc. My solution was acupuncture- I went for three sessions as a human pincushion in a week, and the acupuncture did a lot to greatly reduce the physical cravings. There is also a tea called 'Smoker's tea' that has lobelia root in it. Lobelia root is supposed to be chemically similar to nicotine, so it satisfies some aspect of craving without creating another addiction. I had my last smoke on 2/12/92, so I'm a little over 13 years now. JP, whatever works for you to quit is worth it. If you have any financial interests, put enough money into a jar every day that represents what you spend per day on smokes and think of that whenever you want to light up. GOOD LUCK!
