  1. I found the original lp tracks more enjoyable than expected.
  2. Definitely worth having. Good lineup too.
  3. I must pull this one out. I have the vinyl.
  4. Very nice. The cd has an extra track.
  5. Another nice Murray disc.
  6. Thanks for the heads up guys. Well worth seeking out. I don't know how I missed the earlier posts.
  7. I became an instant Murray fan when I heard Flowers for Albert (india Navigation) when it first came out. I too hoovered up every Murray album I could find and still do to a large extent though I wouldn't call myself a completist now. That said there is not much I don't have. One or two don't work for me but most are pretty good. Like his live performances Murray is very reliable.
  8. Works for me too.
  9. I'm not a big band man but as well as Lunceford you might like to give Erskine Hawkins a go.
  10. Last on Next on Paul Bley; Touching. Black Lion.
  11. Today's listening - a couple of classics. Disc 1.
  12. This is one of the very few Blue Notes I don't have. I never fancied the original and had no idea he Conn had extra tracks. It looks like this will be difficult to find at a reasonable price.
  13. Astomishing music when the vinyl first came out. Still great today. Disappointingly the NYC5 cd omits one track from the original two albums.
  14. This hasn't been off my shelf for a long time so thanks for the prompt Paul. An absolute classic in my book.
  15. Last on Not my favourite Rollins. Found by a friend in a charity shop. Much better than expected.
