Fear not, it's obvious that you're valid, it's just that the city that you live in isn't.

had a good burger lately?
MoGrubb replied to alocispepraluger102's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
The very best burgers I ever had were back in the 60s at Little Joe's in San Anselmo(sp)[maybe it was Corte Madre], CA. Man, he'd take about a pound of ground beef, shape it oblong, take half of the bread out of a about a third of a loaf of Italian bread and slap that sucker in there...man! And their fries, like real and real-tasting potatoes. The foulest/strangest tasting shit was one of Hardee's angus burgers. What's with this angus crap anyhow? Angus beef tastes just like other beef, no different. [if it's different you've got a problem. ]Fact is, I heard, most beef cattle are either angus or whiteface. All Hardee's did was put black pepper in the meat, made it taste like "angus." Gimme a break. Excuse the rant. I feel better now. Thanks. -
If there's one bright spot I noticed that diesel was actually cheaper than reg at one station down here in paradise. And the last time I bought K-1 it was more expensive than reg gas. Go figure... Personally I think management(gov "control") is screwing us over.

"Bubba" will provide a shoulder to cry on, I'm sure.

Paris Hilton Goin' To The Big House

I think I feel a slight burst of criminality coming on, may need the services of a halfway house.... -
Dumb question, I know but, is Army of Shadows as good as Platoon?[assuming you saw, liked Platoon] Actually, I saw Platoon and thought it was one of Stone's better efforts. They're very different films. Army is about the French Resistance, particularly when there were only a few hundred of them and they were in constant danger of being caught. Platoon is of course about America's Vietnam quagmire. Hmmm. I could get into a whole thing about respective subtlety-quotients, but...no. Let's just say that, even given the old apples-and-oranges caveat, Army of Shadows is at least as good as Platoon, maybe even a tad better. (Personally, I'd say it's at least a hundred times better, but hey, that's just me.) I appreciate your reply and objectivity.

What music do you listen to on the way to a time trial?
MoGrubb replied to David Ayers's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I freely admit that this is a dumb idea for a thread. Nah...not as dumb as endlessly debating the possibility of a Classical music forum. That's debatable. -

I think that's commendable. Maybe she's owning up to responsibility. -
re: AAJ I usually get the Forums. Tonight I got a live webcast "A Great Night In Harlem." No problem w/passwords, etc.

I say nay, because classical people are such snoots.

He's a crybaby. Yeah, he's so bright you have to put a tub over his head to see the sunrise in the morning.

Go figure, seedless watermelon! What'll they invent next(?).
-
This begs to question, "How does nekkidness ward off flies?" Seems like it'd attract flies if anything. You know, I'd like watermelon if it wasn't for those pesky seeds. Why they gotta put seeds in it? Anyhow, if I'm threatened, I can eat the vile fruit( I reckon it's a fruit ) with or without salt; same's cantaloupe.

It's a shame that an enterprising young capitalist such as Mr. Francis is thrown in jail just for doing what comes naturally.

I haven't read the whole escapade, but, why didn't he just move out or shoot the fucker? If there was a lease, surely all of that shatting would've constituted breaking the lease somehow? They surely lost their maintenance deposit and the "good" roomie could've sued the shatter for his share. I mean, who shats in a refrigerator? A sure sign of a waning relationship.

Fear not, it's a piece of cake and a pain free procedure if done laparoscopically(sp), I could've done a gig the next night if push came to shove[ten.sax][Disclaimer: I felt like I could, not that the doc OKed it]. I got to the hospital at 11:00 AM and was out of there at 2:30 PM. There was only occasional slight discomfort for a couple of weeks after, not pain, but slight bloated/pressure feelings from pockets of air/gas before it was absorbed by the blood stream to escape. The only hassle I had was finding a vein for administering anesthesia. My veins are deep and I had two nurses poking me at the same time trying to find a vein[while the surgeon watched with an amused/smirk]. tsk He was cool though, enjoyed good music, played clarinet at one time. FWIW, I had it done merely as a precautionary measure; kinda like removing your wisdom teeth because the older you get, the more risky procedures become.

Ricky Williams Just Loves His Weed All I can say about that is "He can't be all bad." -
Sheen sounds like one of those hip religious folks that can get past the pageantry and rituals and get to the heart of the matter, no matter their religious affiliation.

It couldn't be more pleasant here. Low 70s, low humidity, feels good.
