  2. Grover Washington Jr. - Live At The Bijou LP1 (Kudu orig)
  3. Yes it is; I'm gonna spin that thing again tonight! Me, I bought Let's Cook! by Barney Kessel. Think I might spin it later too.
  4. my cd baby package came This is one i've been wanting for a while, i'll give it a listen soon.
  5. The mailman brought me a few packages From amazon and my hip-hop package showed up from Dustygroove
  6. Noticed you got the Mosaic select today MG. How does Clifford play on it? Back to Milt Buckner too, I've ordered "Go Power" and another one of his Argo dates of which the title slipes my mind right now. Looking forward to hearing him.
  7. The J.B's - Doin' It To Death (People Reissue)
  8. Sonny Stitt & Red Holloway - Forescast: Sonny & Red (catslyst orig)
  9. the mailman just brought this to me
  10. "Page not responding" This is THE Clifford Scott album. His solo on "Just tomorrow" is one of my all time best loved solos. You'll regret being broke one day MG I noticed i fucked up the link last night but forgot to fix it. Anyway, starting bid 14.99 + 14.00 shipping. It will come along cheaper someday (or so i'm telling myself)
  11. I'm looking forward to getting Midnight Special. I have Back At The Chicken Shack and don't really want to upgrade.
  12. Clifford Scott & Les McCann - Out Front @ EBAY Spent WAY too much money the last few days, plus 14 dollar shipping is alot for me, so i'm passing. But other Scott fans might wanna check this out.
  13. Shirley Scott - Shirley's Sounds (prestige blue label)
  14. Just found two Onzy Matthews LPs featuring Clifford (and curtis amy) on tenor. I went for the cheap one "Sounds For The 60's." Not expecting a whole lot, but it will be a nice addition.
  15. What's this? I searched Clifford on EBAy and this came up, for fairly cheap. Anyone got info? Is Clifford on it? EDIT: Are these the King sides mentioned earlier in thhe thread?
  16. But back to Clifford, it seems my copy of Mr Honky Tonk is on backorder at DeepDiscount. errr, it might be a while 'til i get that.
  17. Milt was a great organist - in the pre-Jimmy Smith vein, of course. Applied his "locked hands" method of playing piano to the organ. Was so short, his feet couldn't reach the bass pedals when he was sitting on the stool. Two heavily recommended examples of Milt from here are Illinois Jacquet - Go power (live trio, Jacquet, Buckner & Alan Dawson - play very loud) - Cadet, not too hard to get I imagine. Milt Buckner - Green onions - Black & Blue (with Roy Gaines - blues guitarist from Texas) MG I've seen 'Go Power' floating around different places before, but never pulled the trigger. Where's the easiest place to find Black & Blue albums? I dunno 'bout Arizona, man. Surprisingly hard to find. I tried a number of US on line stores - Amazon, Barnes & Noble, CD Universe, Dusty Groove, Jazz record mart - zilch. It's not at Amazon.uk or .fr or at Blue Moon (the firm that distributes B&B) or at my other usual French ports of call. But I've found this at FNAC http://www4.fnac.com/Shelf/article.aspx?PR...96e8d7&Fr=0 The trouble is, the image is too small to see the title - but I think it's the second reissue of "Green onions" and there's no track list. However, you can listen to the tracks - if the first one is "Green onions", that's it. But when I tried to listen, Windows gave me some spiel about not knowing what the thing was, so I gave up. If you've got some other kind of software (I alway have problems listening to samples), you might come up trumps. Otherwise, there's e-bay. Ah! The one at FNAC is the right one, but it's also on e-bay France http://cgi.ebay.fr/MILT-BUCKNER-GREEN-ONIO...VQQcmdZViewItem It's also on the UK e-bay - same disc. Auction ends 25 Sep. Price, at moment, is excellent for a deleted album. MG Dunno why the uK link didn't come out. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MILT-BUCKNER-GREEN-O...1QQcmdZViewItem They've got that Green Onions album on Amazon for close to 50 bux! Thank you for the info. I seemed to find a cd copy of 'Go Power' on amazon for fairly cheap, i'll try and order that one soon. Don't know why the EBAY links ain't coming up, i'll keep a look out for the Green Onion album, plus other B&B stuff. Thanks for the info.
  18. The UNL blackshirts are fuckin' pathetic this year! Oh well, at least we won..

Some have been reissued on CD – often in compilation form, with all of one LP and part of another on one CD. MG Thank you, MG. Milt Buckner is a player that i've never heard. Must check those out! (Great sleeves, too. )
  23. Clifford Scott - Lavender Sax (World Pacific stereo)
  24. If I remember correctly, this one is the more "late night" mood album. Big Hits at least had "Sack O' Woe" and a couple of other decent tunes on it ... I agree. Gave a listen to Lavender Sax and was not that impressed, "mood music" is correct. How would either of you compare "Lavender sax" to the Black & Blue "Midnight slows" series? MG Don't own any of those. Could you give me a list of them MG?
