  8. Ray Charles - Dedicated To You (ABC-Paramount mono) Lou Donaldson - Fried Buzzard (cadet orig)
  9. these came from oldies.com
  10. Cal vs. Tennessee was a good game. Desean Jackson is a special player, as is Forsett. Shit, alot of their players are. USC looks good so far. I wonder how many yards Hawaii's QB is going to throw tonight.
  11. Still shocked about the michigan upset. On the Nebraska telecast the announcers were saying that the APP state QB was a very special player, and that they could not believe the bigger ACC schools didn't get him. Oh yeah, the Huskers sure are looking dominant (they just cut off the telecast though!) Well, what the hell is that pistol offense Nevada was running? It sure isn't work today. Sam Keller looked decent, a bit nervous at the beginning. But oh boy, Marlon Lucky looked like a bad MFer.
  12. Didn't you say Shirley Scott and Lockjaw recorded for King MG? What year did that happen?
  13. picked up a couple of used LP's at the book store Ray Charles-Dedicted to You Lou Donaldson-Fried Buzzard
  14. Looks like Big Twist/Ray Bryant trio is one for the list.
  15. Thanks for all the recommendations everyone! So far i've ordered Lionel Hampton's Paris All Stars Groove Holmes-Somethin' Special and Clifford Scott-Texas Tenor it's gonna be a good month!
  16. Sorry if this has been posted before. No tracklist on amazon, but available for pre-order on amazon and cduniverse (only 2 i checked).
  17. Willis 'Gator Tail' Jackson-Headed & Gutted (muse orig)
  18. Bill Doggett-Hot Doggett (King)
  19. arguably the ojc i have enjoyed the most so far! waiting for Sonny Stitt - Soul People and Jimmy Forrest - Forrest - Forrest Fire, hope at least one of them shows up today... If you don't mind me asking, where did you get Forrest Fire? Through the concord site?
  20. I have a French edition of "Hot Doggett", with discographical notes Percy is on "Early bird", "Percy speaks" "Honey boy" (Oct 52, Feb 53 & Aug 55) Irving "Skinny" Brown is on "High heels" (May 54) FRANK HEPPINSTALL is on "Gumbo", "Wild oats", Quaker city", "Oof", "Shove off" & "True Blue" (Oct 54 & Mar 55) Clifford Scott is on "Squashy" (Jan 56) Clifford Scott & Percy France re on "Who's who" (Jan 56) Frank Heppinstall, to my mind, is a greatly under-rated tenor player. MG Thanks for the info, i'll spin it later.
  21. i'm playing this one right now a two-fer including 'Tate's Date' and 'Groovin' With Buddy Tate' Not mindblowing stuff, but it's good. I'd recommend it (although i don't have TONS of Tate.)
  22. Bill Doggett-Oops (columbia mono)
  23. Finally ordered on amazon (through newbury comics) an OJC i've been wanting for a long time.
  24. Sorry i missed this post. Thanks for the rec, i see this is under 20 dollars on amazon. Maybe mext month..
  25. And ONE more thing - is Clifford the sax player on Billy Larkin's album 'Hold On'? It doesn't say on the sleeve. EDIT - Nevermind, After re-reading the liner notes i saw that Fats Theus is the Tenor player.
