  1. Oh and also, i do have Oops, i'll play that one later. I also have Hot Dogett but i thought the only sax player on that was Percy France, so thanks for pointing that out to me.
  2. Thanks! Where would i find the lionel hampton cd? Amazon.com has it for $7.74 - GO GO GO!!!! Almost all the ones recorded by King after '56. I think he's on some of the Columbia ones - "Oops"? I think you've got that one. I think you've got "Hot Doggett", too. He's only on a couple of tracks of that one, 'cos it's mostly early cuts. He was with Doggett from '56 to about '61. By the way, as well as "Mr Honky Tonk is back in town", there's another on the same label "Texas tenor", which is perhaps even a little better. And I knew there was another fantastic one. Charles Kynard's first album, "Where it's at" on PJ. Totally brill and worth whatever you have to pay to get it. Two I haven't got of his own were Clifford Scott plays the big ones - World Pacific Lavender Sax - World Pacific I think they may be a bit dubious, y'know. Though I'd buy them if I saw them cheap. MG Thanks! I just ordered the Paris All Stars. I'll be checking dustygroove and ebay for those other ones. oh and also, 'Texas Tenor' is available on amazon for 13 bucks, i might get that when i get paid in a few days.
  3. Billy Larkin & The Delegates-Hold On! (World pacific mono orig)
  4. Is that Billy Larkin out on Fresh Sound? That's one I'd like to upgrade - superb album! MG PS - but it has the sleeve for "Pygmy" - is it a twofer? Ah - just found it on Amazon.uk cheapish. Has all the tracks from "Pygmy" and "Blue lights", but in mixed up order (oh I hate it when they do that!). Still, I've ordered it Thanks for the heads up NS! MG No problem! I'm nearly finished spinning it, it sounds good. These 2 sessions sound better to me then 'Hold On!' Which i have on LP (in mono, i believe, wish i had a stereo copy!)
  5. Thanks! Where would i find the lionel hampton cd? I'll have to pull out all my Doggett recordings to see what one's he's on.
  6. Could someone recommend me some Clifford Scott (that's IN print - or easily available.) 'Mr. Honky Tonk Is Back in Town' is quite expensive on amazon, and i can't seem to find it anywhere else (am I looking in the wrong places?) I just got 'Billy Larkin & The Delegates Featuring Clifford Scott' and i'm really digging it so far. I'm also going to buy the Jimmy Witherspoon OBC with Clifford Scott on it. So what else is there?
  7. these showed up today
  8. Is that Al Sears album available?
  9. I'm sorry to hear about that. I lost my dog of 16 years 2 years ago. It's a hard thing.
  10. I'm afraid i don't own 'Young Blues' or the Jimmy Forrest OJC with Young, i assume they're of the greazy sort, right? Looks like you got four (!) more CDs on your wish list: Then there is the 2/3 album with Booker Ervin on a Prestige compilation, but that's not an indispensable item: I've got 'Groove Street' and 'Testifyin' Both great! But yeah, i need forrest fire and young blues. Young Blues is on Newbury, i'm afraid i can only find Forrest Fire on concords site.
