  1. Happy Birthday.
  2. RIP, Mel.
  3. I did get to see him once, but not performing. He was in the audience at a Kenny Barron date at the Village Vanguard. I said hello and told him I liked his playing. He was very appreciative of my complement.
  4. The great drummer is now back playing with Monk. R.I.P. Ben.
  5. The only one I knew was the Newborn which was answered. I liked the trumpeter on track 8. I'm anxiously waiting to find out who this is. The tenor player is good too. Is it Milt Buncker on organ? I have track 14 but I don't recall who this is, nor do I know where the LP is. My guess right now, Hank Crawford on tenor. I'm going to listen again. Maybe the second time through the music I'll get lucky and have more guesses.
  6. Outstanding. Thanks for posting these.
  7. The brain cell fired up and I was able recalled the tune title. It was "How am I to Know?" I couldn't find the commercial on youtube. yes that was the one.
  8. I believe it was either Chase Manhattan or Chemical Bank. The commercial was back in the 1980's and 1990's. I an trying to find out the tune used in the commercial.
  9. He said once in a concert that he found a wealth of music in the Berkshires.
  10. He was born in Brooklyn, but he left to the Berkshires in the late 40's or early 50's because of drugs and other habits. His folks wanted him to not fall into that crowd.
  11. I was thinking of this when this was sold yesterday.
