  1. Thanks Barak, for being such a mensch: Theo (B3's dad)
  2. Oh Ron, Jim and Alison love Philly more than anything: don't worry - and thanks for being such a good friend to my kids. Theo (B3's dad)
  3. Oh, 'It's A Quiet Thing' is my all-time favorite: still gives me goosebumps.
  4. Kinda deep for a guy like me who plays a one string guitar, but funny.
  5. Welcome home guys: We missed you; glad you are home safe and sound. Got some more live tracks for the new cd? Great pics! Theo
  6. Just you all wait until the nasty boys line up in Boston: Harvard, watch you ass. Organissimo has arrived and there ain't no stoppin' 'em. Scofield, Marsalis, you watch your asses too: the midwest Hammond kick-butt honkin' groove down homeys have hit the big town. Don't quit your day jobs, hear?
  7. I wish you all the best on your tour: it has been a long time coming and, as I have always maintained, all you need is the right set of ears to hear you and you will instantly be in the mainstream of American jazz: you are world class - there's no doubt about it. I'll be rooting for you
  8. We're goin' BIG TIME - squeedel de squonk do boom da wack!
  9. yeah, right. I don't drive at night - can't see, don't travel, except when my wife makes me, don't like the guvmint, ain't got no time' no money, and so on. What can I say? Y'all gonna haf to do it yersef, but I still want that Caddy! I still think Organissimo should do a tune called, Eat Yo Greens, as suggested
  10. Ok Greg. You know best. Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your work. Thanks
  11. C'mon Greg: you have done more for the guys than anyone so far: stay with it. This could be your chance to make the big time: guitar players - and I speak with some authority - come in six packs. But, good managers are hard to find. Sure, RD needs some help, but with James and Matt and yourself, Jim and Freddie (Little Milton?), you have a good shot. And, forget about washing the car: you want to use Beulah, just let me know, ok? Love ya, man
  12. You all know that I am Jim's dad, but I gotta tell ya - having spent sixty years listening to great music -and playing, although kind of so-so, tonight I had the time to put on the earphones and, even though I have heard 'This Is The Place' several times on speakers, I was completely knocked out! There isn't a single line by any of the guys that fails: I am overwhelmed. If you haven't just sat back with the phones on and let Organissimo take you away, you have missed a lot. I expect great things for this band in the future: if you all don't have an unopened copy of Boogaloo and Place, I suggest you buy one of each to keep: one of these days they will be worth a fortune. Jim - you are amazing. Joe - what can I say? Being a guitar player myself, after hearing you I might take up the kazoo. Randy - Damn! And, don't forget Johnny - very nice horn work. Greg - keep booking our boys: we need you. This is the place? Definately
  13. How many of you listen to Live365? They have also been very good to Organissimo.
  14. All I know is Organissimo is keeping good company. And I absolutely love the new CD. I had several copies which I have given away so now I have to come up with more moolah to buy extras. Damn! Check my new email address: I am getting to be big time!

This Is The Place continues organissimo’s development of original ensemble material and further refinement of their signature sound. It features eight brand new original songs as well as a lilting latin re-interpretation of the standard “Tenderly” and Frank Zappa’s rock anthem “Peaches En Regalia”. Not content with simply imitating the great organ groups of yesteryear, This Is The Place naturally extends the legacy of the organ trio in new and exciting directions. Organist and bandleader Jim Alfredson began writing his own music at the age of eight and at sixteen dedicated himself solely to the Hammond B3. In 1997 he met guitarist Joe Gloss, who also started playing at the age of 8. They co-led various groups before meeting drummer Randy Marsh, a veteran of the west-Michigan jazz scene, in November of 2000. organissimo was born and very quickly became the premier jazz trio in the state. Now, with the release of This Is The Place, organissimo is poised to break out nationally. This Is The Place debuted at the #2 spot on the CMJ Adds Chart for its first week and is steadily gaining more stations and more spins. Initial comments and reviews have already praised organissimo’s originality, their fresh sound, and their wide appeal. guestbook :: write your opinion about the article your name your e-mail ( to be published as a spam protected ) source :: jazz press service jazz news :: home page © jazz news
  16. I sent a note to the Village Voice that the band would be in Greenwich Village on the ninth and that they might do well to send their music critic over to the club: I hope they do. All we need is the right set of ears and the group is off and running.
  17. Well, whatever you did, Joe, the guitar playing is second to none. You are without a doubt the best I have ever heard, and I have heard some major dudes. Go for it, my friend. And don't be dissin' Mason: I could have lived in Akron. Wahooo!
  18. Alright, if you people are going to continue to dis Mason, it was not goat poop - it was pig poop! this is important so get it right, ok? Jim, don't forget us with the posters - I am collecting this stuff so when you are millionaires I can sell it for the big bucks. Love, Dad
  19. So, are you people hip to www.live365.com? They play Organissimo all the time, right between Charles Earland and Joey, along with Niacin and Tony Monaco, Jimmy Smith and all the biggies. I stream this station all the time: try live365 Lelslie over drive: great organ sounds! I am so proud of my guys I could bust.
  20. Hey: knock it off with the Mason jokes, ok? I could've raised you guys in a shoe box under a stairwell in downtown Indianapolis! Then where would you be? lol
  21. Hey all: no doubt about it - this is the place.
  22. Review, review: just let me say that the entire album is great, but I have to admit that the tune, brother ray, has taken me over. What an amazing deep south, soulful piece of work that is. Randy, can't believe your harp playing on this tune: breaks my heart. And as for 'smoking section, fusion up the butt. Of course I am partial to the little into with Beulah, my Super 400. Joe made her talk, for sure. Thanks to Bill, the percussionist on track two and Tenderly: nice, nice, nice. Pumpkin Pie? I know who that's about. LOL Little Zora. Johnny Gist: you rascal: good to hear you again. Zappa? God, Jim, I have never heard you play anything like that in your life. I thought you were going to be saved! And Joe? What can I say: you are so good you make this old guitar player proud. I could have been a contender, until you came along. Absolutely great! I am proud of all of you and have no doubt that this album will gather much attention in the world of contemporary jazz: And as for the rest of you organ pickers, watch your asses! Theo, da man!
  23. So, Jim: I just listened to the CD and even though I had heard some of the cuts when you were in the studio, I was knocked over! Absolutely awesome. Thank you so much, son. And Joe and Randy - awesome. You guys have definitely topped yourselves with this one. Oh, and I will be watching the mail.
  24. You guys better not forget me at the party or I'm gonna make a big stink! I want some of that twenty-five year old scotch you promised, k? Signed, Father of the bride.
