  1. Well, ours (America's) is just some Al Yankovich re-do of an old British drinking song: And I don't know what that means, ok?
  2. Hi Joe: Read any good books lately? I gotta couple you might like.
  3. Don't know, bro, but I am sure they paid the bills.
  4. deep fried? you want some chitlins wit dat?
  5. ok: I loves you, Porgy, dee do da la woo.
  6. Ok all you forum nuts: here's how it is. Went over to B3'ers tonight, in the middle of severe thunderstorms to hear Randissimo's dad, Arno, do his sax thing. This dude is 77 years old, worked with literally everybody who was anybody over the last 50 years, and is, without a doubt, the coolest cat ever! He is accompanying the band on their Northern Michigan tour starting tomorrow. Like you all don't know it, this is a family forum: everybody on this site is family, from guys like me who post once in a while to guys and gals like you who post daily. This is a friendly and loving group of people who come together to appreciate jazz and jazz aficionados. B3'er, Joe, Randy, use3d, and I, think all of you are the best on the planet and hope you will continue to post your thoughts so we may continue to benefit from your personal experience and wisdom. So, to Swedes (which I am) Dutch, Germans, Britons, French, Italians, and all the rest, God bless and keep it up. This is a great jazz forum: the best there is. Oh, and just wait until you hear the new album. The band has matured over the last two years, getting so close that they are almost telepathically connected. It is a terrific set of tunes and you will all love it. To those of you who believe in the guys so much that you have pre-ordered, given liberally, and been free with your love and support, it means more than you can know to my son and his fellow players. Thank you all. Now, get ready: This Is The Place is coming soon. Theo
  7. Sorry everybody: didn't mean to cause trouble: just playing with use3d, Jim's brother. Theo By the way, Greg N: I suppose that will have to do. lol
  8. Just give it up, Use 3d: I know who you are.
  9. Perchance Organissimo might throw us a bone, if we cry hard enough: seriously, the new album, This Is The Place, is out of this world. Trust me, I am the Patron Saint of the group and I know these things. Theo (By the way, the pic is of Beulah, my Gibson Super 400 1976 Custom that Joe used on the intro to Tenderly: wait till you hear her.
  10. Congrats Jim, Randy, and Joe, along with your friends and fellow players, as well as Glenn Brown, a brilliant guy: Having heard a couple of the 'roughs' on the upcoming CD I must say even I, knowing how talented and original you all are, am impressed. Knocked my socks off! To all the members of this board who have responded so kindly and optimistically I can only say, thanks to all of you: I am very proud of my son and have no doubt that in a very few years this fine group will be world-famous. So, get your copies of their CD's now and one day they will be worth a fortune. From Theo to all of you: Love
  11. Ok: this from B3er's dad: it's 9:30 pm eastern time and I just talked to Jim in Florida: they loved 'em at the jazz festival, and treated our boys like kings. The front row was full of media, and we are hoping for a great review: There was a lot of positive response and they sold a bunch of CDs. Hang in there, friends of Organissimo: these guys are going to be big time and we can all say 'we knew them when'. This from a proud parent. Theo
  12. Ok, ok: enough of this narcissism from the band. Being B3er's dad, I don't say much on this board; rather I read what all you fine people have to say. However, let me add my bit. I know Jim is killer 'cause I watched him grow up doing it. We were playing a couple gigs together (I play guitar) when Joe came into the picture. He simply blew me out of town! Then, after a few pretty good drummers in pops the one and only Randissimo. Well, that completed what has become in my opinion a world class jazz trio and I lool forward to them making vast amounts of money so Jim can buy me that Cadillac I've been wanting. Seriously, guys, I expect great things from you and I love you all. Theo
  13. Well: I have been busy and unable to attend to this board for some time, however, after reading the entire thing about Norah Jones, Christians, anti-Christians, ego freaks, delicate sensitivities, et. al., I have decided to add my opinion, if somewhat late. Those who frequent this forum might notice that I seldom post, but I have the inside track since I am B-3ers dad and Use3d's dad. These guys in Organissimo are three of the finest young men I have ever known and to impune their integrity over some crap from other boards is simply stupid. As for Norah Jones, I think she is hot and the majority of you who gripe about her are not: she should do some of my tunes instead of covering old stuff. But, that's another story. Trust me when I say that this forum is moderated by gentlemen who care about music more than anything else, and the group, Organissimo will soon be known throughout the world as a serious and creative jazz ensemble. Glad you all made up: try to do what musicians have done for centuries - be brothers and sisters in the joy of your creativity and love of music. Be kind: it could save the world. Theo.
  14. What knocks me out on the CD is the quality of composition, as well as the complete tightness of the trio. First class stuff, guys. Keep it up.
  15. Sorry: didn't mean to quote the whole 'lame mango' thing. So, Randissimo, I can't stop laughing, but I have my own blues name: have had for years. Ready? (It seems to follow a couple of the rules) Lemon Boy Leroy. Hah?
  16. There's no disputing Jimmy Smith as the father of organ bop, and of those who followed many were unsung players I have met and listened to all over the country: guys like Doug Duke (don't laugh, B3-er), Cliff Duphaney, Joey West out in CA, even a full-figured sister in a blonde wig, knockin' down some decent jams in Batavia NY - oh, and Denny Gill from Buffalo. These are some of the people I thought were creative and innovative, if not in the same class with Jimmy. But, my favorite organist I ever met and saw in person was Groove Holmes, probably the faster right hander ever. Hey! I'm not a newbie anymore.
  17. Let's hear it for da band! B)
  18. It is cool! I liked your guitar, Jim Dye.
  19. This is my avatar: Beulah. Ain't she pretty?
  20. So Jim: when am I gonna hear that RD mix?
  21. I've had my share of strange gigs too: all over the country, but the weirdest for me was in Lansing Mi where I worked in a club that catered exclusively to legislators, lobbyists, and assorted political hangers-on. These people thought they were in charge of the universe and made no bones about telling me what I should play, how loud, how long, and who I should let sit in. One night a freshman congressman stepped up to my stage, grabbed the mic out of its holder, waved his arm at me and said, 'Our day will come, in G!' He then began counting down the tune for me. I just sat there and when he finally acknowledged that I was there I said, 'Sorry, but I work alone.' (I was doing a solo gig at the time) Talk about pissed. I don't know: I always hated singalongs and would never put up with it. If I wanted to invite a good vocalist to perform with me, fine, but not some drunks. If that's what they want they should hit a kareoke (sp?) bar, eh? However, that gig paid more money than any other I have ever worked so it all evens out.
  22. So, like, who are you Use3D? As if I didn't know. Hi Joe G, Randissimo, B3er, and all the rest of you jazz aficionados. Nice board, huh? By the way, my avatar is of Beulah, a 1976 factory custom Gibson super 400 I had built for me just before Gibson went down the drain. Ain't she pretty?
  23. Hey Jim: nice board. keep up the good work.
  24. Sorry: just being silly.
  25. So, like are you gonna do pop-ups and stuff?
