  1. Always reason for concern, but Colorado sitting on their asses is not going to help them. I expect either team team from the AL to be a tough opponent and I do believe it will be Cleveland. If it's Cleveland in the WS it's the 8th year in a row with a different WS champ. I hadn't thought of that, but you're right TBH, I think a Cle'lan vs Rockies match-up would be fun to watch, personally. Cle'lan has the pitching, Rocks have the hitting. Either way, it's all good.
  2. NL West, Rocks!
  3. The main problem in the NFL right now is that there are only a handful of teams that are any good. ... And Dallas is one of those teams, so there you go. The rest, frankly, stink. I've got the Sunday Ticket deal on the dish, and it's actually difficult to find one damn game out of all of them that's worth watching. The Patriots seem to be able to play football at a professional level. Dallas also. Indy, of course. After that .... what? This whole season boils down to this: Will it be Indy or New England that beats the crap out of whatever team stumbles into the Super Bowl from the NFC. All this talk I hear on espn about the Giants defense and Brett Favre and on and on, it's pointless. Those teams will not beat the Pats. No way. There are some baaaad teams in this league that are barely able to complete a pass. Yet another compelling reason why the salary cap must die: The unfortunate result just makes everybody mediocre.
  4. Now why the hell did they have to wait until after they played the Niners?
  5. I don't know about y'all, but my money's on New England. Buffalo exposed some serious flaws in Dallas overall game plan. It's New England's game to lose. Just ONCE I'd like to be right about something sportswise that DIDN'T affect my teams negatively. Last time I was right about something like this, the Mavs were swept by the Warriors in the first round. I could go ahead and predict the demise of the Stars, but that would be too easy. Face it, Guys. Dallas got whooped up on and by a team who actually faces real competition. The Ca'boyz are a paper lion.
  6. Mike Metheny Benitez Santiago Bob Brenley
  7. Yet another victim of steroids abuse.
  8. Cal Berzerkly and LSU lose this weekend. Wow. Now if the polls place Ohio State in the #1 spot on the strength of a blowout over , uh...Kent St. [who?], the BCS is hoplelessly flawed.
  9. Dallas has a lot of proving to do, too. They have a very soft schedule ahead of them.
  10. Cheap shot. There is a big, giant, huge chasm of a difference between assuming something happened and actually witnessing it before your very eyes. No comparission at all, JSnrgy. None. BTW....I especially enjoyed the wimp-out knee down by Romo to close it out. Whipped pups and they knew it.
  11. If the Cowboys lose by 10 or less, I'll consider it a positive sign as to where this team is right now. Sure, we go into it 5-0, but it's a damn soft 5-0. Lots of work has been done with fine results, but even more remains to be done. This game will go a long way towards identifying what/where that is to all concerned. I kinda liked the way the Patriot offense waved bye-bye with their knuckles: Scored with only 19 seconds left on the clock. A good ol' fashioned Ca'boy butt kickin' and on their home turf
  12. Everything sounded so right, I'm starting to think Gwynn knows where its at ... and then I read those last five words. :bad: :bad: Believe or not, Dan [and I hope you're sitting down]....I agree with you. Kirk Whalum? Boney James? Just shoot me.
  13. Thank you, Jazzmoose.
  14. Well GEEZ, JH Deeley...what the hell were you thinking anyway? Dead issue. Move ON, fer cryin' out loud.
  15. I've changed my vote: Sox vs Rocks in the WS!!! You heard it here first.
  16. BoSox in five NL West NLCS will go six....a toss up as to who will win. AZ has the pitching, Rocks have the hitting.
  17. I was inspired to do a poll on this when I heard they are doing the same thing on ESPN, I believe. Seems the vast majority of fans, Yankees or not, think he should not be fired. I would be one of them. Hate the team, but always liked Joe Torre.
  18. Once the Summer fruit season dies down around these parts, we usually start getting fruit from South America.
  19. Scroll back one. Cheers!
  20. the Giants? the Dodgers? both teams with Big time losing records. The two top teams in the AL Central have better records than the D'backs and Rockies. So educate me. What I can't comprehend is why Goodspeak thinks its impressive when your prognostication takes place after 5/6th of the season is gone. Is it more impressive to predict in March that the Brewers will be competitive in September, or is that prediction more impressive in August? How about predicting the Super Bowl matchup in August vs January? Maybe because one is a baseless guess and the other is a clear indiction. Who said it's impressive Dan....? Taking poetic license with the facts again? As to better records...the AL uses the DH. The NL bats the pitcher. AL generates more offense especially against NL teams, ergo the better records. Nuff said. End of comment. I have never understood this argument. That the AL generates more offense yes, but as for the Wins/Loss columns in the regular season, since NL teams mostly play other NL teams not sure how it affects wins/losses compared to the AL. While yes there is now interleague play during the regular season, but when that happens, doesn't the visiting team play by whatever the home team's league rule is on the DH - so then what would be the advantage to an AL team? The advantage comes three ways: #1 The AL will score more runs and thereby have an opportunity to beat more teams. #2 Since the NL pitcher bats for himself, the offense will suffer and more games are lost as a result. #3 The NL doesn't have a player whose only job is to hit and score runs....that makes him a hitting specialist: Advantage AL. It can also be argued that the NL is more competitive and therefore more games will be lost to stiffer competition. I get your points - however as I said before, since most of the regular season games are only AL vs. AL and NL vs. NL teams, I don't see how this has a big effect on your Win/Loss record for the regular season within your League. Interleague play when AL team is in NL park, AL can not use DH. THose few games where NL plays in AL park, then NL unaccustomed to DH may be at slight disadvantage. With the DH the AL has a hitting specialist. The NL has a pitcher who must hit. CLEAR advantage to the AL. I fail to understand how you can see something different here....I seriously do.
  21. During a trial in a small town in a southern state of U.S., a prosecuting attorney called his first witness to the stand, a grandmotherly, elderly woman. He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?" She responded, "Why, yes I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a young boy, and frankly, you've been a disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you." The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?" She again replied, "Why yes, I do. I've known Mr Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women, one of them was your wife. Yes, I know him." The judge asked both counsellors to approach the bench, and in a very quiet voice, said: "If either of you bastards asks her if she knows me, I can guarantee you spending the rest of your life behind bars for contempt!!"
