  1. I think that your father should have been pleased, when you think about what most teen-agers were listening to back then.
  2. A favorite here.
  3. I think that If I were going to recommend one Blind Willie McTell compilation to someone who had no McTell, that one would be it.
  4. Some of my favorite music from Mr. Threadgill. N.P. Thanks to John S. for the reminder of this one. "Odwalla" is one of my favorite jazz theme songs.
  5. There are some good sides on Decca that aren't included on those, but unless you're a McTell completist, you have the best of his early sides covered.
  6. The Best of Blind Willie McTell (Yazoo)
  7. 60 years old and a lot of people still haven't caught up to it.
  8. Tom Lubbock: Great Works - 50 Paintings Explored One of the finest books on art that I've ever come across.
  9. Trane: Live in Tokyo Vol. 1
  10. What;s the purpose of this? Do they own a lot of the publishing and figure they can make more from that? Sell music for soundtracks? Chuck? Anyone?
  11. I put in 35. Glad to be out, especially on a day like today. 3 X (Though truthfully, I haven't heard the Dolphy yet. I'm sure it's a good one.)
  12. Out for a half hour walk this morning - cut short by snow starting to fall and walkways getting slippery. On my iPod shuffle: Early Gene Ammons (he was a pretty good blues ballad singer); Takacs Quartet: Beethoven; Ellington: Such Sweet Thunder; Messiaen; Son House.
  13. Thanks, Jeff. N.P.
