  1. Title should read "Interviews" rather than "Interview". Perhaps a moderator can make that change. Thanks in advance.
  2. Came across a series of interviews concerning Cecil Taylor done with colleagues of his. I though that it would be worth posting: https://tedpanken.wordpress.com/2012/03/25/for-cecil-taylors-83rd-birthday-a-jazziz-article-from-2001/ edit: The interviews were held by Ted Panken.
  3. Rocky Marciano The Hardy Boys Our Man Flint
  4. Tintin Huddie Ledbetter Horace Silver
  5. Grab it. Classic music presented beautifully. Grab it!
  6. Lucky Thompson featuring Oscar Pettiford (ABC/Jasmine)
  7. Steve Stone Rock Hudson Etta Place
  8. Thanks once again, Jim! And thanks again, John! Always a pleasure to read thoughtful writing about Cecil.
  9. Durium seemed like someone who was always willing to share what he had discovered and what he knew.
  10. Have we become a forum of wannabe lawyers?
  11. Annie Oakley Irving Berlin Bud Powell
  12. Jim: Any chance you have a copy of John's Down Beat article on Cecil Taylor at Wisconsin U. and could post it? That was another classic.
  13. I drink a gallon of milk every couple of days. Have done so for years - since I was a kid - and I can't see that it's done me any harm.
  14. Thanks for reprinting the article, Jim. I recall reading and enjoying it when it was first published. edit: And I definitely thank John for writing the article.
  15. It also could be that the purpose of the press release was to let Ornette's fans who hadn't already purchased the recording know that it wasn't authorized and, for that reason, they shouldn't purchase it. All of this speculation seems a bit foolish. Let things play out as they will.
  16. Won't do any good as long as Jim Buss is still around. But I agree. Maybe someone can catch Jimbo doing a Donald Sterling imitation. If he were gone, they could fire Byron, retire Kobe, beg Jerry West to come back, and start rebuilding.
  17. Mr. King went out in style: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/30/us/bb-king-returns-to-a-mississippi-home-and-its-warm-embrace.html
  18. I find myself generally with Moms in this "debate". I think that what he has to say is more reasonable. Phil Schaap has had his share of screw-ups but, as Moms has said, he's done a lot more good work and has been a friend to many musicians.
