  1. The LP is actually an early Yazoo. The jacket is Belzona. They evidently had some jackets left when they had to change the name.
  2. Mississippi Blues 1927-1941 (Belzona/Yazoo)
  3. Happy Birthday Again!
  4. Ike Quebec: Bossa Nova Soul Samba (BN/Classic)
  5. I'm in for the Daley - whenever you're able to do it. I'm a very patient person.
  6. Bing Crosby Whiskey Headed Woman Midnight Rambler
  7. Christopher Robin The Mighty Sparrow Jay Gatsby
  8. If ragtime influenced blues guitar interests you, it's worth checking out Blind Blake. He was the best in that style. The Best of Blind Blake (Yazoo) - http://www.amazon.com/Best-Blind-Blake/dp/B00004Y9XE/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1404677784&sr=1-1&keywords=blind+blake is a fine one - great music, great sound. Many of the present day finger pickers (though not Fahey) took a lot from Blake. No him - no them
  9. All the best to you on Your Birthday!
  10. You might start with The Best There Ever Was (Yazoo) - http://www.amazon.com/Best-There-Ever-Was-Legendary/dp/B0000AGWIQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1404605370&sr=1-1&keywords=the+best+there+ever+was It's an excellent compilation of acoustic blues from the 1920s and 30s, and it will give you a good taste of a number of performers and styles. If you hear music you like, you can move on from there. If you're looking for more recent recordings, Mississippi John Hurt: Today! (Vanguard) - http://www.amazon.com/Today-Mississippi-John-Hurt/dp/B000000EJ2/ref=sr_1_5?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1404605700&sr=1-5&keywords=mississippi+john+hurt is worth checking out. I can't imagine that too many people wouldn't enjoy it. And a more recent recording, Etta Baker: One -Dime Blues (Rounder) http://www.amazon.com/One-Dime-Blues-Etta-Baker/dp/B0000002ZG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404605950&sr=8-1&keywords=etta+baker+one-dime+blues has some very finger-picked guitar. This one is mostly instrumental. This is a very, very small sampling of the music that's available. But it might be a start that leads you to new musical discoveries in your life.
  11. Billy Bauer: Anthology (Interplay)
  12. Yes, but it that's the dimension that your team (e.g. the Bulls) desperately needs, and you've got a defensive genius as coach and three or four tough defenders on the floor (three if you're not counting D. Rose, and you shouldn't)? It's all academic because we're not going to get Melo, but still I think we'd be better with him, through maybe not good enough. Just tell the other guys on your team not to expect to see the ball once it's in Melo's hands. And tell them that they'll be playing 4 guys on defense against 5 for the offensive team.
  13. Leiber and Stoller Big Mama Thornton George "Hound Dog" Lorenz
  14. Joe Temperley & Jimmy Knepper: Just Friends (Hep)
  15. I'm not a Knick fan, but I watched him enough to know that he's strictly a one dimensional player.
  16. Rockin' Jumpin' Shoutin' (Goldband/Charly)
  17. Hot and humid yesterday. Cool and raining today. I'll take today.
  18. Roswell Rudd - Giorgio Gaslini Duo: Sharing (Dischi Della Quercia)
  19. I recall seeing this on network TV in the early 60s.
  20. Refrigerator Perry Whitey Ford Chevy Chase
  21. Gerry Mulligan - Paul Desmond Quartet: Blues In Time (Verve/Mobile Fidelity) I like Desmond's playing enough that I can tolerate Mulligan. Listening to this, I was reminded of a line that a friend of mine read and passed on to me. A musician once wisecracked that Mulligan played country and western baritone sax.
