  1. Prince Far I: Long Life (Virgin) An ironic title, since he was murdered at age 39.

  4. The Lewis book is a very good one, with a lot of history/information. It's a bit flawed by being written in an academic style at times, though I didn't find it overly so. Hard to say whether it's a good book for a beginner. You might be introduced to names of musicians and to music you want check out, or you might be somewhat overwhelmed if you're unfamiliar with AACM. I'd say that it can't hurt to try the book and then listen to some of the musicians discussed in it. You can always go back to the book when you're more familiar with the music and then it will probably have more meaning for you.
  5. Fantastic album. Fahey occupies much record shelf space here... Not as well known as some other Faheys (not that Fahey's records are that well known in general) , but I think it's one of his best.
  6. The Everly Brothers: Songs Our Daddy Taught Us (Cadence/Ace U.K.)
  7. John Fahey: Railroad I (Takoma)
  8. As he says in the comments section: I’ve given a digital copy to Dylan’s office, but as they just issued the amazing Another Self Portrait I doubt they will release anything covering similar ground. It’s their decision as to what to do–they own the rights. Wise to cover himself from that angle. I doubt that Dylan would want to be bothered with any legal action on the acetates and any future sale.

  18. It's also on the Cecil Mosaic, which was issued about six years after the Neidlinger release. Perhaps Mr. Neidlinger just wanted to get the music out there or perhaps he was testing the waters to see what would happen if he issued previously unreleased material from the Candid sessions.
  19. If you listen to Dodo Marmarosa's Uptown CD, he introduces it by saying, "This is Mike Marmarosa.", and he emphasizes Mike. Evidently, he got tired of being called "Dodo".
  20. Tiger Woods Growling Tiger Roaring Lion
  21. Albert Ayler: Spirits Rejoice (ESP Japan)
